Hi I'm Brett

I'm a Construction Manager. I served 13 years in the Army National Guard. I'm a Boise State Bronco. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from Boise State University with a degree in Construction Management and Military Science. I work as a Construction Manager overseeing primarily design/build projects on military bases or other federal or local government facilities. I enlisted in the Army National Guard as a private and was promoted to sergeant before taking a comission as an officer. I was in the Armor branch and served for 13 years including one tour in Iraq before being honorably discharged as a Captain to be able to pursure my civilian career and focus on my family. I am married to my best friend and we have 5 beautiful daughters and one son, who is my best buddy! We love camping, watersports, sporting activities and just spending time together. I am involved in the community serving as the President of our homeowners association and on the Parent Advisory Committee for the middle school our children attend.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints and like most people have had my share of struggles through life. The one thing that I could always count on though was the Love of my Saviour. My life is never as good as when I am striving to live the teaching of Christ and follow the example that he has set for me. The proclamation on the Family that was sent out by the Church has given me a strong basis to guide my life as a Husban and Father and has made my relationship with my wife and children something that I not only want to last forever, but because of the Gospel I know can last forever. I know that Prophets live on the earth today and found great peace in this life by listening to and heeding their counsel. Service in the Church and obedience to the Lord's commands bring meaning to my life and help me continue to draw closer to my Heavenly Father and my elder bother Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I enjoy spending time in the temple and work hard to get there frequently with my wife. Over the years I have had many different callings in the Church but have spent much of my time working with the youth and specifically the young men. The scouting & Duty To God programs were a strong influence on me during my teenage years and it has been very rewarding to help other young men achieve their goals and develop into mature and valuable citizens and leaders both in the Church and in the communities where they live. My father was a great example to me of honoring the Priesthood and serving others. I learned from him how to work hard and how to look for and take advantage of opportunities to serve. Because of this I have tried to instill this desire in those that I have been called to serve. In my experiences in the field of construction and the military I have had many opportunities to stand up for what I believe and be in many cases vastly different than those that I am surrounded by. I have never regretted any of the times that I had the courage to stand up for my beliefs and have found that it has made it easier to gain others respect and serve as a leader in these situations.
