Hi I'm Carsten

I am an 18-year-old economics major. I am a music lover. I am a missionary for the LDS Church. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Argentina Santa Fe mission. I love music, in all shapes and forms; from classical to hip-hop, reggae to rock, I love it all. I primarily love to play the piano and the French Horn in the Bands and Orchestras at the university where I attend, where I am an economics major. I was born and raised in the Portland, OR area, and a part of my heart will always be there. I love the Pacific Northwest. I also love to ski, sing, binge watch Parks and Rec, and to hang out with friends, just like just about every college student loves to. Bust most importantly, I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that is why I have left my life behind for two years to serve the Lord on a mission. I want others to feel of the love that God has for all of us. I want to share with them the Restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that my family can be together forever if I live the teachings of the Gospel. I want to live with my parents, and eventually my spouse and children for eternity, and because of God's plan for us, we can have the opportunity to do so. Also, the times that I have been the happiest have been while I have lived the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have felt His love more strongly for me in those moments, and I know that I will be blessed when I live by its precepts.

How I live my faith

I strive to make sure that God is the center of my life. Right now, I am serving Him on a two year mission. That is where a worthy man or woman leaves everything behind to preach the Gospel in a foreign land. I was called to serve in Santa Fe, Argentina. It is an incredible experience because I feel God's love for me every single day. As I try to share with them about God's plan for us, I feel His love more fully for me everyday. Before my mission, in order to live my faith, I always just tried to do the most basic thing to show God I cared about Him: I prayed. By praying, or talking with God, I am able to feel of His love for me and to tell Him the things I stand in need of. I also regularly attend church to receive the full blessings that come from living the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. By doing so, I am able to renew those covenants, or promises, I have made with God.
