Hi I'm Jewel S. Vinson

I was raised LDS, married my middle school & high school sweetheart, who is a convert to the Church, & we have 3 precious kids!

About Me

Things I love to do. I love to paint while listening to my Phantom of the Opera cd that my dad gave me, however life as a mother doesn't allow me to get to do that as often as I would like. I am a fairly active Mom who loves to play basketball and volleyball weekly. I love to dance while cleaning the house with my kids and love music! I haven't gone to college yet but hope to someday. Cosmetology school. I enjoy being a stay at home mom! And I like to write poems and have written 1 childrens book(not published) and am in the process of writing 2 other novels. Would love to try to get them finsihed & published someday. I love to ride horses & love my childhood memories of riding with my dad! Playing games with my family and friends is always so soothing to me! I love to laugh and have girls night out! Sometimes getting out of the house is the best medicine! In the spring and summer I love to take the dogs and kids for a jog/run in the park along the trails. The kids will ride their bikes or skate while I get a good little jog in. I enjoy a run in the park. When I'm exhauseted I love to just crash on the couch for some movie time with the kids and enoy just being together! My family is everything to me! My husband and I fell in love when we were kids in Middle school, and grew up together. We got married young, and then started our family early. We've been in the same ward for 11yrs. and love it! We love the small town we live in and love living in the country. Life is good!

Why I am a Mormon

Well I grew up in a very strong LDS family! My Mom never raised her voice and was as picture perfect in patience and love as you could imagine. My Dad was a go getter. He was always looking to be able to be of service to someone! If there was anyone in need, Dad was always there to help! It was through their faith that I was able to feel the spirit teach me and lead me in the right direction! That doesn't mean that I was the perfect teen. I was very rebelious and hurt my family deeply. All along knowing I believed in the church and knew it was true. I never once doubted that. I just was a selfish and rebelious teen. It wasn't until I wanted to settle down that I matured. I knew how I wanted to raise a family and I did everything I needed to do to be able to do just that. I repented and worked very hard so I could go through the temple and be sealed to my husband and so that we could have a eternal family. I am not ashamed of my past, for it has made me who I am today. However if I could do it all again. I would have been way more respectful of my parents and enjoyed time with them more! I have grown to love time with them now! When I am with them I feel a little peace of Heaven. I only hope to be half the parents they were to me!

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday. My husband works alot so I can stay home with the kids which is important to me. I love him for helping me do this! He attends church w/ us most of the time. But when he can't b/c of his job. I take the kids to church w/o him. This use to be very hard for me. But I have learned to endure through & be a good example to my kids by doing what the Lord has asked of me, even if it's not always easy! Together as a family we try to have F.H.E.(which is our family time/scripture study) on Mon. nights however we aren't perfect at it! My husband & I serve in our church callings as asked and try to teach our kids that there is nothing in life more important than your faith & serving the Lord! I want my children to be strong in our faith but want them to find there testimony of it on there own. I don't want them to say they know it's true just b/c they hear us their parents say it. I want them to feel the spirit witness it to them on there own. I can already tell they do. Makes me so proud! I teach in the primary at church which is the childrens class. I teach age 6, & they are so cute, & so fun! My husband works with the youth and teaches them in scouts things like camping, fishing & hunting, he loves it! And the youth really enjoy him teaching them! I play sports with other women from church & love it! It's a good way to make friends, get a good workout in, and get out of the house. Sometimes as a stay at home Mom I get stir crazy, lol! I love being a stay at home mom but I definately need to have friends I can socialize with. I was raised in a big family so there was always someone to talk to and I still love to have that. Playing basketball & volleyball lets me still feel alive & young, & is super fun! I try to be there for any friends I make, no matter what they need. Friends from school or friends from church, this is very important to me! Sometimes just being a friend to someone is the best medicine & the best service you could give someone!
