Hi I'm Megan

I love playing sports and being outdoors. My family is my life. I love learning new things and meeting new people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My friends say that I am care-free and happy-go-lucky. One of my friends calls me "Sunshine". The reason I am so happy is because I always try to look for the good - in everyone and everything around me. I love my family. They are the most important people in my life and are my best friends. When we are all together we like to play games and tease each other. We are a joking family. My dad is the biggest "jokester" of all, but he has a big heart. I love going camping and backpacking/hiking because my parents took us camping a lot for vacation growing up. I also love playing all kinds of sports. My favorite sport is soccer. I play soccer almost every Friday night. Most of my friends growing up were boys, so I am very competitive. I ran Varsity Cross Country and track in High School. I love trying new things and meeting new people. I will be the first one to eat a bug or jump into a freezing lake. :) I try to make sure everyone is included in my fun because I have a sensitive side that doesn't like to be excluded or made fun of. I love to read when I find a good book. I love listening to music; it depends on my mood, but I mostly listen to mellow music. I love to sing - in my car, in the shower, anywhere! Sometimes I just like to lay on my grass in my backyard and listen to the birds and watch the clouds move. The beach is one of my favorite places. I love to surf, soak up the sun, and swim like a fish. :) I am studying to become a registered nurse so I can help others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this church. I have not always known this was true, though. I usually was a good girl because I wanted to make my parents happy. There came a time, though, when I needed to find out for myself whether or not this was true. I'd had experiences throughout my life that have strengthened my testimony little by little. I think I didn't truly know that this is the path I should take until I found out how much I needed my Savior. I had an experience when I was about 19 that caused me to reflect on my life and the direction that I wanted it to go. I came to realize how necessary the Savior and His grace was in my life and why I personally needed His Atonement. I realized that no matter what I did in this life, it would never be enough to return to my Heavenly Father. I felt an overwhelming love and appreciation for His sacrifice for me. Ever since then, I have never looked back and have strived to become a better person each and every day. This gospel isn't easy to live, but with the Lord, you can do everything. He can lift you to the highest places you never expected to reach and it will be so worth it. I never knew the joy and peace that I was missing out on until I truly embraced my Savior and His love. This testimony that I developed of my Savior burned so deep in my heart that I chose to serve Him by serving a mission in the countries of Croatia, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and spread the love of God and His gospel among the people. Today, I am serving my Lord and my God in little ways, although I am no longer serving a full-time mission. I had always wanted to serve a mission, but I don't think it would have meant as much to me if I never came to this realization. I love serving His children and helping them find their own peace and happiness. :)

How I live my faith

I served a mission for my church in the countries of Croatia, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. I learned a new language (called Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian, or Montenegrin; to avoid contention, many people in those countries call their Slavic language "Our Language") so that I could go share the gospel with others in their own tongue. It was one of the best experiences of my life. I love that I had the opportunity to devote all of my time to serving the Lord and His children for 18 months. Missionary work is one of the greatest things that we, as Christians, can do in this life. How can other people come unto Christ and believe on His name if they have never heard it and do not know Him? I try to be an example to every one around me, in word and deed, of His gospel. Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." That is my life-long goal.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Megan
In the bible it says that, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Because all of us are human, we do and will sin. Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. Because of His sacrifice, all can be saved from physical death and be redeemed from spiritual death. Immortality (or living forever after this life) is a free gift to all mankind through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. To be saved from spiritual death (or sin), however, the scriptures say that we must repent and believe in Him. Your actions are a reflection of your faith in Jesus Christ and your love for Him. Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commandments." Show more Show less
