Hi I'm Hayley

I am a freshman in college, living on my own for the first time and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old and I am a freshman in college. I love the college life. It is so fun! I am majoring in Plant Science with and Emphasis in Horticulture. I can't wait to get my degree, although I don't know what career path I want to take yet. I want to get married in the temple and have a forever family. That is my goal. I love my family and I am so glad for my parent's support. They mean everything to me. I have 5 siblings and they all mean the world to me. I don't know what I would do without their love and support. I love being a "Mormon" and am so grateful for my testimony.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love Him. My parents are good and faithful members of this church and they have been my rock and my example. When I was in High School, I pretty much relied on their testimony and the testimony of my Seminary Teacher. I knew they knew it, so why did I need to find out for myself? I would find out when I came to college. I was doing so good my first semester. My grades were good, I was going to church, I had friends, so why did I not feel satisfied with myself? I slowly began to realize I wasn't living the Gospel like I should. I was just going through the motions. (This seems to be the one thing that always stops me from growing my testimony.) I began to throw myself into my Institute class. I read my scriptures with a purpose in mind. I am praying on my knees morning and night. My testimony means everything to me. I know that this is the true church. I know that my Savior loves me. He has gone through so much for me, and I know that I am not perfect, but because of what He did for me I can become perfect. I love this Church and I would be going no where fast without it.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by participating in church activities. I am on a committee to help organize events for the Sister's in my ward. We plan activities to get to know each other, and to serve others. I love doing this and enjoy getting to know everybody in my ward. I also choose to dress modestly which lets others know of my high standards without saying anything. I also go to Institute twice weekly and I share my testimony with those in my class. I love the feeling I get when I walk into the Institute building. It is a feeling of peace and I try to keep that feeling with me always. My church membership is apart of me. It affects everything I do and I would not have it any other way.
