Hi I'm Ben

I'm an artist, I wish I could play the bagpipes, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in the United States all my life (maybe one day I'll leave!). I served a Mormon Mission in the grand state of Ohio. My favorite passion is art, especially animation. Ever since the fifth grade, I've been creating characters, drawing expressions, and making cartoons. My dream is to take some of these characters and bring them to life through movement. I'm also a certified nerd of movies, games, Disney, and youtube. I also love to read, perform in theatre, and engage in overall tomfoolery.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was grown up with the gospel taught in my life, I really needed to learn things for myself. When I was a kid I hated waking up early and going to church meetings. I would much rather watch TV or swim in the pool. I hated sitting still and being quiet. This attitude really lasted up until my preteens. Around the time I was 11 I decided that I needed to ask God if this was really true. I didn't feel anything special and quickly forgot about it. But much later, I was reading about a story in the Book of Mormon. Shortly after his Resurrection in Jerusalem, he came to visit God's children on the American continent. He ministered to them through word and deed. I wasn't expecting it but all of the sudden I felt the Spirit stronger than I ever had before, especially when Jesus healed the sick. I suddenly knew with surety that Jesus was my Savior, and that the Book of Mormon was true. After that, things fell into place. The reason I'm a Mormon is because I have had the Spirit testify to me that this is the true church. That feeling didn't last forever though. I learned the hard way that we have to work consistently to develop a relationship with God. I still didn't like church at first, and reading the scriptures could be a bore. But I stuck with it. As I have continued to read the Bible and the Book of Mormon and attend church services, it has helped me continue to feel the Spirit and come closer to God. I wouldn't be anywhere else!

How I live my faith

It's not easy, and I often make mistakes. I try my best to help others and reach out. I try to make a postive differnece around me. Most of the time, however, I feel like I fall short. That's why I have to rely a lot on prayer to God, attending church services each week, and reading the scriptures, because these are the things that help me come closer to Him.

What is being a Mormon like?

Um, super fantastic !I can't imagine being anywhere else. I have come so close to my Heavenly Father, and I feel of his love and guidance in my life. We believe in being happy. When we follow the commandments and direction our Heavenly Father has given us through modern day prophets and apostles, we can find lasting happiness, not just pleasure. This time here on earth can be a blessing if we allow it to. :) Show more Show less
