Hi I'm Bret Rasmussen

I grew up in Mink Creek, outside of Preston, ID. I ride snowmobiles for a living. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful women and am the father of three wonderful children and two grandchildren. I ride snowmobiles for a living, teaching backcountry riding skills to sledders world wide. I am involved in research and developement of mountain sleds and strive to create a better riding experience for sledders who want to take there ride to the next level.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the covenent and have slowly come to know Christ during my personal conversion. I know that He lives and that He stands by me each day. As I associate daily with people from around the world who are snowmobilers I often wonder what it would be like if Christ was not in my life. Without this gospel to give me the knowledge of where I came from and where I am going, what would be my purpose? I could enjoy my career just the same, the meaning would be different. I love having the guidance of the Holy Ghost and of the Prophet President Monson. The Lord has his hand in all things.

How I live my faith

As the bishop of our ward I am thrilled to have the keys to act in favor of each of our ward members. It has been a great blessing in my life to be able to work with the youth and to see them grow in the faith. My occupation takes me away regularly in which case my councelors take a lot of my load. I stay closely in touch with members and leaders alike using technology like email and texting, Skype and cell phones. Our ward theme and goal for 2015 is to share goodness to everyone, and to become a better people for it. A random act of kindness to a friend in need means so much and this is the example that Christ lived. I try to live everyday as I believe the Lord would want me to. I certainly try to be a friend to those around me. I pray always and depend on guidance daily from my Savior Jesus Christ.
