Hi I'm Tan.

Sup, y'all! I grew up in Utah, and I LOVE music, and anything intellectually stimulating. Oh, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music. All different sounds, styles, and types. I love creating it, listening to it, and learning about it. I started playing trumpet when I was 12 years old. I grew a very strong passion for it, and I have been inseparable from it since. I have played all around the world and the country. I have played in many all state and all star bands, with many famous jazz and classical musicians, and have won many awards. I also love writing and reading. I wrote for my journalism staff in high school and won Deseret News' (which is the Utah Newspaper) 1st Place News Writer of 2009! Wahoo! Yes! Yay! I also love video games, movies, and a lot of nerdy things like Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, the Matrix, The Terminator, Starcraft, etc... Hopefully this is somewhat balanced out by my obsession with sports! I love football and basketball; playing basketball mostly, and watching football, mostly. I am a diehard New England Patriots and Tom Brady fan, and I will flip a lid if you talk crap about them. I literally almost cried after this year's Super Bowl. And I am seriously not a baby or anything. I just love them that much. Devastation....Crap, I need to stop thinking about that.....

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into the church, I realized that I had to develop my own testimony. I did. Mmmhmm.. So yeah. I like studying church history, and Jesus Christ especially. I like knowing useless facts about stuff, and my goal is to really know all I can about the life of Christ. I think it is so awesome that as a Mormon, I have the FULLNESS of the Gospel, which sheds so much light and permits me to look at things in new and enlightening perspectives.

How I live my faith

I am serving my church by going on a 24 month mission. That's commitment, right there!

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

We believe 100% that we are saved by grace. Absolutely. Period. No person can be saved by his or her works, no matter how great he or she is, and how many good things he or she did. As Paul taught, you must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and have faith in him. In order to clear a path for that river of enabling power which is grace, however, we must be baptized for the gift of the Holy Ghost, strive to live righteously, repent, and humble ourselves before the Lord.
