Hi I'm Kurt

I live in Alberta, Canada. Im a university student, and Im mormon.

About Me

Im currently a student at my local University. I am studying to become a city planner, and hopefully one day an architect. I love to get outdoors and go to the mountains to hike, or kayak. I also love quading and hanging out with my friends. Im a big hockey fan and I love the Edmonton Oilers.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have always had a feeling that the church was true and I lvied the principles it taught.Although I had grown up in the church and felt it was true it wasnt until my mission that I really knew that this was Christs one and only true church with His authority. As I learned to serve people that I met on my mission, I found a great love for our Heavenly Fathers children and started to realize how much he loves every single person, no matter who they are or what they've done. Through serving others around me and my Savior I came to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true, that Jospeh Smith really was a prophet of God, that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and is true and that my Savior Jesus Christ knows me personally and that he can and will help me- and I love him. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that he lives today, this is his church, he stands at the head of it, and he directs it personally through a living prophet today!!

How I live my faith

I live my faith weekly by attending church and trying my best to live the principles taught in it daily. Prayer and reading my scriptures make my days so much calmer and smoother, it may not reduce my workload but it helps me to accomplish the things I need. I have a responsibility in the church to work with the full-time missionaries to help them bring people unto Christ. I also enjoy listening to church related music occasionally throughout the week.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

The reason that our church has apostles today is because we believe in continuing revelation. The apostles in Jesus time were called and ordained of the Savior himself, that same power is passed down every time a new apostle is called. The Apostles are prophets, seers, and revelators, who recieve revelation for the entire world to protect us and to guide us toward the savior. Because the world changes and peoples peoples concept of right and wrong seems to change over time we need apostles and prophets to teach us exactly what is true. This doctrine comes from the Savior Himself because the apostles are ordained and called of him. Show more Show less
