Hi I'm Mike

I was born and raised in Arizona with parents, grandparents and great grandparents all born in the church. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and Father of three boys and one daughter, the baby of the Family. I work at the college and teach microbiology. I have two sons that served Missions in Peru, Lima South and Argentina, Buenos Aries South. I currently have one son serving in the Argentina, Resistencia Mission. His current area is a short 150 miles from where I served my Mission 32 years ago in Paraguay, Asuncion. I graduated from ASU with a degree in molecular bio-science and biotechnology. I love the outdoors, wilderness hiking with my wife, fishing, shooting, mountain-biking and motocross racing. I served in the Boy Scouting program for all three of my eagle scout sons which was a great opportunity. I currently serve as the Ward Clerk with the greatest Bishopric ever. I come from a long line of faithful members of the church and have been greatly blessed through their love of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon simply because I have felt the conformation of the Spirit that tells me that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true and it has been restored in it's fullness in our days. I had the amazing opportunity to develop my testimony as I taught the wonderful people of Paraguay about the restored Gospel. I continue to strengthen my testimony as I serve in my callings and share this message with my friends and those whom I come in contact with. As I continue to read the Book of Mormon and listen to Prophetic counsel from the leaders of the Church, my testimony is strengthened and I am better prepared to overcome the challenges that I face on a regular basis. I enjoy the companionship of an eternal companion who was also raised by wonderful parents of long Church service and ancestry.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by keeping the covenants that I have made as a member of the church. I try to be faithful in regular visits to the great families that I have the opportunity to serve in our Ward. I have a new calling that is foreign from the callings that I have had in the past and it is a time for me to learn and gain new skills and talents. I have many friends and associations in the church and outside who teach me how to become a better person. I'm grateful most of all for the life and Atoning sacrifice of my Savior Jesus Christ who allows me to obtain the most important gifts that can be offered to any person in this life.
