Hi I'm Scott

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am in my mid-thirties. I am married. My wife is a wonderful companion and my best friend. I am a father to four children. I love my three boys. Each teaches me so much. I now have a baby girl. She is a jewel and has enriched my life. My favorite thing is to hang with my family. I originally wanted to study engineering but changed to communication and business. I currently work for a benefit outsourcing company.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon. It was a way of life for many years. I was taught that I am a child of God and that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I didn’t really understand how important that knowledge would be later in my life. When I was 14 I had a very special experience getting to know my Heavenly Father and that he loves his earthly children. . One day I came home feeling a great deal of fear about a situation developing at school. I was questioning why life was so difficult. I questioned myself wondering if God really existed and if He really cared enough about his children to help them. I remember kneeling by my bed and asking my Father in Heaven if He was there and listening to me. I asked if Jesus really came to the earth and that if he was going to return to the earth that he come as soon as possible. I asked for His help, comfort and protection. I said if He would answer my prayer, I would follow Jesus. I got up from my prayer, sat in my bed and opened my scriptures. They fell open to the following verse, “Behold, this is the promise of the Lord unto you, O ye my servants. Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am and that I am to come.” I cannot describe the feeling in my heart. I was filled with such a glorious peaceful feeling. I had not only received an answer to my prayer spoken to me by the words of a prophet in my worst hour, but I actually felt a presents. The presents of the Spirit bearing testimony to me that my Heavenly Father lives and that Jesus Christ is his son and that they care for me and would watch over me. Since then, I have had many occasions through prayer and scripture study to feel God’s love.

How I live my faith

Today, I strive to speak daily with my Heavenly Father through prayer and read the words of Christ and his holy prophets in the scriptures. Life is a whirlwind with so much going on with a family of six, a full time job and striving to be neighborly. Amidst that whirlwind, I take my kids to church and take time to teach them the gospel of Jesus Christ from the scriptures just as my parents did. I hope that one day each of them will get to know their Heavenly Father as I did and receive a testimony of the savior Jesus Christ.
