Hi I'm Richard James Wadman

I grew up in Antelope, CA and then moved to West Jordan, UT. I lived the gospel of Jesus Christ my whole life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm half Hispanic and half American. My mom is native of Chile, and my dad is from California. I know a little bit of Spanish because of my mom, and I can understand the language better than speaking it. I love playing basketball and volleyball, ballroom dancing, hiking, swimming, and exercising. I'm currently a student at a community college trying to complete my general educational requirements to receive my Associate's Degree and then eventually transfer to a four-year university.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life. I was raised living His church through the wonderful examples of my parents. Both my parents have served missions and continued to live through and follow His gospel. I was baptized at the age of eight, and I felt it was the right thing for me to do. I didn't understand about the gospel of Jesus Christ that well when I was that young, but as years went by, I have progressed and gained knowledge of His gospel. My testimony has become stronger and my faith has been growing. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and how it has helped me to understand who I am and what am I to do. It has helped me to develop a stronger relationship with my Heavenly Father every time I pray with sincerity and faith to Him. I love reading and pondering the Book of Mormon because it answers any question or resolves a concern that I have come about. I know the Book of Mormon is true because I have read it cover-to-cover, and I have prayed about it. I have lived the gospel of Jesus Christ by following the teachings it contains in the scriptures. I know that the Book of Mormon can testify to you that it is another testimony and witness that Jesus is the Christ and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet called of God that translated the Book of Mormon. I know that Jesus Christ gave his atoning sacrifice for the sins of all mankind, and he did it because he loves and cares about us. Being a part of this Church has blessed my life and my family.

How I live my faith

Over the years as a member of the Church, I have participated in a number of things and callings for the Church. When I was in my teenage years, I was in charge of the young men that were my age. I got to watch over them and see how they were doing and how I can help them when they needed it. I cared so much for the young men in my ward, and I will do anything to make them come stronger and closer harmony to our loving Heavenly Father. These young men went to the same school that I went to, and I talked to them every time I came across with them. I hanged out with them a lot, and we got along pretty well. I also participated in hometeaching in my ward. In hometeaching, my companion or partner and I were assigned to a few families or individuals. We got to visit them and saw how they were doing and how we could help and serve them. I loved these people, and my companion and I did our best to serve them and meet their needs and concerns. Having the experience as a hometeacher has helped me to develop Christ-like attributes, such as faith, hope, charity, and love. I hope to continue to serve these people and the Lord.
