Hi I'm Susan Wright

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently supporting my husband while he cares for his parents. His mom, age 78, has suffered a number of strokes. His dad, age 81, suffers from the later stages of Alzheimers. We made the decision 2 years ago that he would shut down his business to care for his parents when their health began to fail. I have a good job so I am able to keep our houshold going while he performs this service for his parents. While he faces many challenges in caring for his parents, often the challenge I face is being lonely without him. It is kind of like being a widow, only my husband is not dead. We enjoy spending time together and we have lost much of that due to the time involved in caring for his parents. The main thing I have prayed for as I am going through this challenge is to keep my compassion---for my husband and for my in-laws. To make sure that my husband knows I am there for him. Especially on those days that have been especially stressful--there are alot of those as their illnesses get worse. I am an only child and had a very close and loving relationship with my parents. In 1990, they died within months of each other. I could not have gotten through it without my good husband. He was a blessing for me. I want to be one for him.

Why I am a Mormon

I tend to be a very practical person. I am a Mormon because the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ just makes sense to me. I understand who I am and why I am here and what the purpose of life is. Having an understanding of these things enables me to face the challenges in my life, knowing that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are there for me. The Lord's tender mercies are many and even though I feel alone at times, I know I am never alone. I know how much I am loved by God and His Son. I see their hand in my life in ways large and small.

How I live my faith

I teach the adults in Sunday School. I love it because I get to study the scriptures and as I endeavor to live the principles I study, the Holy Spirit opens up my mind and heart to a greater understanding of God's word and I can share those insites with my class and hear their insites as well as they study the scriptures.
