Hi I'm Cheryl

I'm a flute player, a graduate student, and a wife. I'm Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Michigan. I am the oldest of four and I love my family. I am married to a wonderful husband and love spending time with him. I have a bachelors degree in music education and am currently working on my masters in flute performance. I love playing the flute and sharing music with others through performing and teaching. I enjoy doing crafts and scrapbooking, and my husband is slowly teaching me to enjoy the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

Since my parents are both members, I have been attending church my entire life. Growing up, most of my friends weren't members. I was put in situations where I had to stand up for my beliefs. I had to decide for myself early on whether this church was something that I truly believed in. I knew deep down that the gospel was true. I was lucky to have many friends who supported my beliefs, and blessed with opportunities to share the gospel with them, which in turn strengthened my own testimony. I love the peace and direction that the gospel gives me. I find comfort in knowing Heavenly Father's plan for me, and knowing that He is there to listen and to guide me. I have been guided throughout my life and know that He is watching over me. I know that I will be able to be with my husband and my family forever, no matter what happens in this life. I love the Prophet and Apostles that we have today. They receive revelation from the Lord for our day. Living the gospel gives me peace and joy, and a sense of purpose in my life that I can not find anywhere else.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example. I try my hardest to be Christlike and serve those around me. I am happiest when I'm focusing on others and not myself. I look for ways to make myself better every day. I currently teach sunday school in my ward. It is a new experience for me, but I am excited for the opportunity. This year we are studying the Book of Mormon. As I study and prepare to teach my class I feel the spirit confirming that the things I am learning and teaching are true.
