Hi I'm Ben

I was born in Utah, Raised in Connecticut. I'm a missionary, I'm a photographer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of four children, and was raised as a member of The Church. Throughout my life I've had many different interests. I played football from 4th grade through high school, got injured a lot, but still loved playing; I also played lacrosse, and ran track for one season. When I was a junior in high school I took my first photography class, I had a great teacher who helped me develop a love for photography as form of art and expression. As I grew in my understanding of photography, I decided to continue my study of it at college in Utah, hoping to learn what I needed to become a professional photographer. I was at college for a year and a half, and as I was there I prepared to serve a mission. In December of 2011, right after I finished my final exams at school, I left on my mission. It wasn't, and still isn't, easy to put everything that I have (at home and school) on hold for the two years I'll be gone, but I know that this is where God wants me to be. I know that bringing people the everlasting joy that comes from living The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most important thing for me to be doing right now.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of The Church because I know that living this Gospel is the only way that I can have a fulfilling life, and be truly happy. Having been raised as a Mormon, I spent most of my younger years believing in The Church because it was all I knew, and because I knew that my parents were telling the truth when they told me that it was God's true church. However, towards the end of highschool, and then when I went to college, I had to make hard life decisions for myself, and I had to really know of the truthfulness of the things I had been taught so that I could make the right decisions. Through prayer, hours of studying the scriptures, and talking with many people about different faiths, I've gained a testimony of my own that this is God's true church on the Earth today.

How I live my faith

Right now I'm serving as a missionary for two years in Las Vegas, while here I'm trying to share what I know with everyone I meet, and looking for opportunities to serve the people of this area. I'm also working to become the best I can be through studying the example that Christ set, and trying every day to be more like Him. I hope to more fully understand and apply Christ's teachings in my life so that I will one day be the best version of my self I can, and be able to uplift the lives of those around me.
