Hi I'm Todd Harris

I grew up in Utah, love to work out, play any sport, love modest girls, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to wakeboard, snowboard, play basketball, football, and pretty much any sport. I, also, love MMA! I grew up in Ogden Utah then I went to High School up in Morgan Utah and was able to wrestle for two years. I worked for a fencing company, (not sword fighting), but pounding steel and was able to do it with my best friend Garrett Smith. Just before I came out on my mission I was living in Las Vegas, Nevada. I love my family. We all get along very well. I have 4 brothers and 1 sister and she is the best sister in the world! I was able to live with her and my brother-in-law for 5 years and had a great time. We lived in Vegas and while I lived there I really gained a love for the water!! So, naturally, I was a "beach bum" for a couple months before my mission :) But, I love serving the Lord, even better than the water. It's definitely not the best thing that I will do in my life, but I know it is the best thing for my life. It has given me a better understanding of my Heavenly Father and what He expects of me. P.s I love getting letters on My mission Elder Todd Harris 8515 Douglas ave Ste #19 Urbandale, Ia 50322

Why I am a Mormon

I’m a Mormon because I know that our Heavenly Father knows each of us by name and loves when we communicate with Him by prayer. And I also know my Savior, Jesus Christ, loves me and the Atonement is real. It has healed me and given me hope for this life and for all eternity. One of my favorite passages in all of Holy Scripture is in the New Testament in the Gospel of Matthew. 39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. 40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them aasleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? 41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. 42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done. Matt 26: 39-42 By knowing that the Book of Mormon is true by the power of the Holy Ghost it leads me to know that my loving Savior has accomplished the Atonement for everyone in the world. I know that Jesus, the Christ, truly lives today. He accomplished the Atonement because of His loving kindness. 1Nephi19: 9: "And the world, because of their iniquity, shall judge him to be a thing of naught; wherefore they scourge him, and he suffereth it; and they smite him, and he suffereth it. Yea, they spit upon him, and he suffereth it, because of his loving kindness and his long-suffering towards the children of men." I am grateful to know that through the Prophet Joseph Smith the Church of Jesus Christ was restored. Joseph Smith was able to translate the Book of Mormon by the gift and power of God. It is something we can read and pray to know if it's true. As we read the Book we gain a stronger desire to serve our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I'm currently serving in the Iowa Des Moines Mission. Sharing the Gospel gives me much hope that Jesus is the Christ. He has given me many blessings in my life and the loved ones around me. The power of the Book of Mormon gives me great hope knowing that it does answer many of the questions of our heart and soul. It also has solidified my testimony of Jesus Christ as my Savior and Redeemer. I know that as we take the Book to our Heavenly Father He will answer through the power of the Holy Ghost and by the power of the Holy Ghost we can know all things. When we come to know that He lives and loves each and every one of us it brings great happiness and much joy. I know, by personal experience, that as we follow the commandments we will be happy and experience joy in this life and in the life to come. And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it. (Mosiah 2:41)

What is the First Vision?

Todd Harris
Joseph Smith was called to be a Prophet who would help Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ restore The Church of Jesus Christ. God has, and always will, love us. He extended His love by reaching out to a world that was in darkness, to bring it light. Joseph Smith was searching for light and truth, and He found it in an answer to humble prayer. He prayed as you and I pray every day with a question on his mind, “Which of all the churches is right?” He arose one morning and he went out into a grove of trees and knelt down. He quotes in his own words the very experience that happened to him. Before you read this ponder and ask yourself, “Why did God need to restore His Son’s true church and have it on the earth today?” Joseph said, “I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me…When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other, This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!” Our Father in Heaven does and will always answer prayers; we just need to trust him. Moroni, ancient Prophet in the Book of Mormon, writes, “If ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you.” Show more Show less
