Hi I'm Lazaro

I'm an a United States Navy veteran, a Computer Engineer, devoted husband & father, and a Latter Day Saint.

About Me

Hi, I am Lazaro; I'm a convert to the church, a navy veteran & world traveler. As a result of travelling in the military and in my career as a Systems Infrastructure Architect I have had the opportunity to visit foreign lands and learn about other cultures and religions. I also was blessed to be able to study besides computer science my real love theology and religious studies which in turn produce in me a search for God, this search inspired me to practice many other religions besides the faith I grew up with and in the end let me to become a Mormon and finally find the rest and joy I was looking for all my life. I am very happy married to a wonderful Mormon wife, have three children who besides my wife are the joy in my life. Besides my career in computers which I really enjoy both at work and at home, I am a musically talented and sing opera and play several musical instruments. I continue to travel the world and hope to someday go on a mission for this great church with my wife on a senior’s mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I'm a Mormon - simply put - after many years of studying, experimenting, joining different churches, practicing diverse ways of looking for God, God found me instead - revelation came to me at a very difficult time in my life when I was on the ground due to many life transforming events (loosing work, dealing with PTSD, Divorce, Illness, Financial lost, and lost of a child) Life events that we can all experience, in my case all these events happened at the same time. When you are laying on the ground the only thing you can do is to "Look Up”, and like Joseph Smith did when he experience so much doubt he when to the scriptures and ask of God. I simply and very humbly ask the Lord to tell me what I should do that would bring me the never ending Joy and peace that only comes trough Jesus Christ and the Lord answered me. It transform this Navy War Veteran involved in many military operations in the middle east and South America to a man filled with peace, love, patience, and a very humble heart which the holy spirit can reside in, a true living and holy temple. This Gospel changed my life; actually it did more than that it saved my life. For someone like I used to be to say what I am saying shows the power of God, Christ and the Holy Ghost to change your life for the better. I love this Church with all my heart and soul, I know that all our scriptures are true no matter what scholars and others state about it, since at one point in my life I was one of those scholars finding faults in this Church, like Saul who became Paul the lord spoke to me when I was on the ground looking up and then something incredible occurred - he transformed me and lifted the veil and I partook of the 'ultimate truth' and that is why I am a Mormon - A Soldier of Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my life by following the commandments, ordinances, praising the Lord at all times, and emulating Christ in all I do - I serve others and do all I can to help my ward and our Church to bring others to Christ. I live a Christ like life not only at Church, but in the world; so others who are not Mormon see that what I believe is who I am - I walk the talk.
