Hi I'm Jacob Coffey

I was adopted from La Paz, Bolivia when I was 4 months old. Close to dying but my parents nourished back to health. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I lived majority of my life in Oregon and recently moved to Washington. I am a son of a wonderful family. I love to play sports such as rugby, soccer, and basketball. I have 2 brothers and one sister. I have a huge love for my little brother. I got to see him grow up all the way to age 11 but since I have left for my mission I will miss him when he turns into a teenager! Scary to believe he is getting so old but life goes on and I know the lord is blessing him. I have received my eagle scout award. I am a very hard worker and won't give up. I graduated from Lake Oswego High School and then attended Snow College in Ephraim, Utah for a semester. This is where I put my papers in for my 2 years mission for this Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. I will be serving in the Nicaragua Managua North Mission for 2 years. I am so excited to serve the lord and give him back only a little of of what he did for us. He is truely our savior and loves us. I love talking about the gospel. Its a huge blessing for me to be raised into a family of the church and now I want to spread the word of Jesus Christ that he lives and he is our savior. Also that familes can be together forever. It will be the best 2 years of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because the lord has a plan for me and all of us. I was adopted at the age of 4 months and was close to dying. My parents got a call from the adoption agency and was told there was a baby for them in South America La Paz, Bolivia but, were to they need to come down by the next day to get me. I they didn't know why but did what they were told. After getting me took my the states and immediately took me to a doctor. He said that if my parents didn't get me any sooner that I would have passed away. I lived for a reason and I know that. I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for that and will always keep my testimony strong. I follow this gospel because I know its true. Everyone is always so nice and easy to talk to. I have testimony that I know that this church is true, I know that President Monson is our true Iiving prophet today. I am very glad for the plan of salvation and that I will be able to live with my family forever. The yhave done so much for me to get to where I am and I am so grateful. My parents of shaped to be the best example I can be to go forth and share the gospel to our brothers and sisters out in the world. I know it. I know that our Heavenly Father has a plan for us that we will return to his presence if we choose the right and follow is commandments. I know this to be true because I am serving a Mission for the church and giving 2 years of my life to preach his gospel and help others to know this is the true church. I say these things in the sacred name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

I am currently a Ward Missionary in my ward. I have had this calling twice, once in my singles ward in Utah and the other in family in Washington. I help investigators in anyway I can, even if its stopping by and making cookies for them. My purpose is teach lessons and and attend meetings as a ward missionary group.

What is being a Mormon like?

Jacob Coffey
Being a Mormon is great! I love attending church on sundays and seeing everyone in my ward. The church organizes fun activities for every age. Since I was 5 and remember going to church activities I have always remembered how fun they are. I am 19 an they are still fun to attend. People at school know who I am and know my standards to. Who was Joseph Smith?

Jacob Coffey
Joesph Smith is our first Prophet of our church. He restored the gospel by translating the Book Of Mormon and giving his life for it as well. He had so much faith in what he was told. At age 14 is when all of this happened where he wanted to know which church was true and knelt down to pray in the sacred grove. There he was visited by our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and was told that none of the church's of his time were true and not to join any of them. They told him that he would be restoring a church. Show more Show less
