Hi I'm Taylor

I am a Computer Programmer. I love music, photography, and playing board games.

About Me

Growing up my family was very blessed. My parents raised me with a knowledge and love of God and they taught my how to live correctly. While in middle school, I started forget about the truths I knew. I enjoy math and science and during this time I was started to doubt that God even existed. As I grew older my doubts grew bigger but did my best not to show it. I was able to hold on to a small desire to believe that God even existed and the hope that Jesus Christ existed. When I got into high school there came a point where I decided I needed to really figure out if God did indeed exist, and what that meant. I decided to start by tying to learn about God with real intent. Before this time I would attend church classes but wasn't really looking for truth. I also reached out to 2 close friends who I thought were happy. When I began to look for truth, I found it. With help from my friends and through fervent prayer, I confirmed that the truth I discovered was true. Since then, I know undeniably that God exists and that Jesus Christ really is our Savior. God loves me, and I know he loves you. As I searched for answers, I found them. I learned about who God is, why I am important, and who I can become. I have never been happier in my life. I am full of the peace and love that God has given me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the plan of God makes sense. As I studied about God and his plan for us, I had many questions. As I received answers, they fit together like pieces of a puzzle, or lines of code in a computer program. When I prayed, I was filled with the Holy Ghost. In talking to other good people who share my same interests, I have found that they have many questions too. I may not have the answer to every question, but I don't let that shake my faith. I can always rely on the scriptures and prayer to uplift and inspire me to be a better person and to provide answers to some of my questions. The more I learn about our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, the more I am grateful for the lessons I have learned and all the blessings I have received. The plan that Heavenly Father created for us is perfect. It provides me with purpose, it gives me vision and perspective and helps me set goals to improve. I am a Mormon because I know who God is, who I am, and who I can become. As I have I have overcome weaknesses and fortified strengths God has blessed me. I know that I can overcome obstacles, and discouragement and no matter what happens, I can always rely on the simple statement that 'I am a child of God.'

How I live my faith

The fields of math and science are full of religious doubts and skepticism. I know many people who are great people but who just believe in God. I have been able to live and maintain my faith through a habit of daily scripture study in the Bible and Book of Mormon, church attendance, and sharing my beliefs. The fields of computers and technology change so rapidly. Serving a 2 year mission for the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is one of the biggest sacrifices and blessings that I have received. Boxing up my hobbies and deferring a college education were hard, but serving a mission has helped me strengthen my testimony of Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and our purpose in life. It has taught me how to grow and show my faith.
