Hi I'm Stephanie Fiebrink

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Heyo my name is Steph. I am a mother of 2 adopted children and now have 4 grandchildren. I was an active athlete and have played many sports, from football, hockey, baseball, softball, volleyball, lacrosse, etc, but softball was my biggest passion. I still play sports now, but am limited to wheelchair sports since my back was broken in a sports related injury several years ago. I worked as a medical tech/ paramedic for the US Air Force, but left the profession after Desert Shield. I then went on to work as an architectural printer and then as a 911 dispatcher. I love helping people and taking care of their needs. I am also a very independent person, who is still trying to learn to accept the help of others when I need it, now since my injury. I have a passion for life and outdoor activities. When I was younger I spent almost every weekend either backpacking, canoeing, spelunking, fishing or playing sports. I still love to do a lot of these activities and attempt to do them as often as possible. I am also a musician and can play all of the stringed instruments and some of the brass instruments.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I feel it was the right place for me. One day after having a bad day at the 911 dispatch center I went for a long drive. When I'm stressed I love to drive and look at houses. On this drive I was really upset and was praying to myself. I was asking God to show me if there was a chance for me to feel peace. I suddenly heard a voice in my head that told me to go into the center church at the top of the hill. When I got to the top of the hill I noticed a Methodist church on my left and a Protestant church to my right and in the center was The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. So I parked my car and went into that center church and sat down in the back row. The talk in the church was about listening to your inner voice, which they called it the Holly Ghost. All I can say was I was listening that day and for the first time in a long time I felt at peace. A couple of the missionaries had introduced themselves to me right after church and as me if I wanted to learn more about it. I agreed to meet with them at a restaurant that was owned by a friend of mine the next day. That was when I learned it was a Mormon Church. I had never associated The Church of Jesus Christ to Mormons. They missionaries at first thought I was upset that it was a Mormon Church. That was when I told them that the restaurant they met me at was owned my a friend of mine who was Mormon. My physical therapist is also the brother of the restaurant owner and also my best friend. That was when I found out that he could baptize me, and with in a couple of weeks I was baptized and have never looked back or regretted my decision since. I have been much happier since I joined the church and feel they are also my family.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. I have been a basketball coach for the Young Women's program in the church. The young Women consist of youth from the age of 13-17. Now I am a Visiting Teaching supervisor. I supervise many ladies who look over other ladies within our church. They visit with them monthly to see if there is anything that they may need or their family may need. I believe that is a very important call to serve. I also try and help my fellow neighbors as needed, even though they are not members of our church.
