Hi I'm Kathy Ward

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in rural Colorado. I enjoy gardening, walking, reading, genealogy, and spending time with my husband, two daughters and grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church since 1973. I had heard the Joseph Smith story and wanted to know for myself, if it was really true; so I began to read the Book of Mormon. As I read, I came to realize that what I was reading was true; there was no way that Joseph Smith could have written the book. The Book of Mormon bears such a powerful testimony of Jesus Chirst! As I read, my love and testimony of the Savior grew. I also came to know that Joseph Smith was truly a prophet of God. The Church of Jesus Christ was restored back to the earth through this prophet of God. Heavenly Father loves all His children. He will never leave them alone for too long without a living prophet on the earth to teach His truths and the plan of happiness. Since the prophet Joseph Smith, there has been a living prophet on the earth. The restored gospel of Jesus Chirst has brought great happiness to me and my family. We still have challenges and struggles, but know that they are just part of the test of mortality

How I live my faith

Reading the scriptures daily, along with daily prayers, helps to keep me on the right track. I also think it is important to be of service in the community and in the church. I serve my community thru the 'Meals on Wheels' program. My 84 year old partner (she is amazing!!) and I deliver a hot lunch-time meal to elderly citizens in the community. It is very enjoyable to visit with these dear senior citizens. My work in the church involves teaching high school youth, ages 14 - 18 years old. The program is called Seminary. Each year the youth study a book of scripture - Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants and Church history, Old Testament, and the New Testament. By the time they graduate from high school, they have studied all 4 books of scripture. We usually meet for an hour every school day, for 9 months of the year. This year we are studying the Old Testament. I teach 5 terrific youth. I also visit teach 5 women in our church. I visit them once a month and share a spiritual message with them, as well as help them with any problems they may be haveing.
