Hi I'm Layton Swenson

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a senior at BYU-Idaho studying advertising and business. I served in the Argentina Salta mission and learned to speak castellano. I love skiing and being outdoors. I keep up with politics somewhat but I get frustrated with them sometimes.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ and believe that he is my savior and redeemer. I truly believe that our father in heaven and Jesus Christ restored the fullness of the gospel through Joseph Smith. I know that if we live the gospel of Jesus Christ daily we will be happier and more successful people. I know that because I have felt the difference and have truly learned the difference between good and evil. I am not a perfect person by any stretch of the imagination but I know that following the principles and teachings of both our modern day and ancient prophets from the scriptures we can come to know Christ better.

How I live my faith

I strive to attend my church meetings every week. sometimes it is really difficult to make it through all three hours of church with my two crazy boys. We have family prayers before meals, before we go to bed, and when we get up in the morning. We also strive to read at least a couple of verses of scripture together each day. I think though that the greatest way that our family lives our faith is just by the decisions we make. I can really say that before any major decision we have asked our heavenly father for guidance and he has blessed us with it almost always.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Layton Swenson
They will share the message of the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. A lot of people get nervous to listen to the missionaries but believe me when I say that they don't want to make you feel uncomfortable. They want to help you to come to know about gods plan for you and how you can be happy living the gospel. Being a missionary my self for two years I know that people have questions. My advice is to listen to the missionaries brief message and then once they have concluded tell them how it makes you feel. Ask questions about the message they shared. If nothing else you will have learned more about another religion and there is nothing wrong with that. I personally love finding the similarities between our faith and other faiths.
