Hi I'm Gabe Cheung

Born in Hong Kong, raised in England, Architect to be, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up with the traditional Chinese culture, my parents are both converts to the church when they were young, i was raised with good values. We moved to the UK when I was 10. I found interest in architecture and is striving to become an architect. I live in London and I love this vibrant city, I love the museums and galleries here. I love Playing basketball, played in varies teams including the university Men's team and the Chinese society Team, love to chill with my friends, hang out, play computer games, shopping and going to art galleries. I love fashion and arts, photography, design and of course, Architecture.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised with this faith. Although i was taught this, it doesn't necessary mean it was what I did or I believed everything was true. I believe all the teachings and commandments are good and helps us have a balanced life. I had periods of doubts and sometimes indulge in earthly things. It wasn't until i had a question and I needed an answer that the gospel worked for me, with a real purpose to pray, to read the scriptures and with real intent, living the standards. I felt a change in my life, since then, I know God loves and cares for us. With this gospel knowledge, it lead me in living a more meaningful life, a more positive, productive attitude in all aspects, work, study, family. It has given me great hope, I know I can always pray to my Father in Heaven and know I will receive an answer, or learn another great lesson. I know I can grow and become what I want to be with God's help.

How I live my faith

I served as a missionary in Hong Kong and enjoyed it so much. Now I'm studying in University College London for masters in architecture. It takes up a lot of time. It feels like all my time and effort is spent on drawing, model making and coming up with cool ideas that might not be so good the next day. There is a lot of pressure, blood and tears. But what brings comfort and peace to me is I know that's not the reason of existence. It's only a small part of life. I believe life is eternal. which means it continues forever. We will have a chance to continue learning. The things that can be forever will not be our career success or money. But relationships with people, family, and memories. Other than the long hours spent in the studio I often go to church, where I find peace, a place to refreshing my mind. Also I read the Scripture daily in the morning as well as praying daily. I know and have felt God's love. Many times in my troubled times I would pray and tell everything to God. I know He cares and wants to help. Often I realise the plan God has for me.
