Hi I'm Brooke Greene

I'm a student, singer, missionary, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a music education major and I love music and love to sing! My dream is to be on Broadway but I also would love to be a elementary school music teacher. Music is definitely my escape. I often have trouble putting how I feel into words so music is how I express that. Music is also a way that I can feel the Holy Ghost and know that God loves me. I am a missionary in Las Vegas, Nevada and I'm here for 18 months serving and teaching people about the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the church when I was born. They have helped my testimony grow and I was able to be baptized when I was 8 years old. Back then I believed because my parents did, but ever since then, my testimony has grown every day and I know that this is the right church and where I am supposed to be. The standards and teaching always made sense to me but by living the standards, over time I was able to know for myself if it was true and I gained a personal testimony of it. I would not be where I am today and a member of this church if I didn't know it was true.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel and love to share it whenever I can. That's the reason I am on a mission! I want to serve the Lord and bring others to know Him. I try to study my scriptures every day and my faith and testimony grow every time I do. I also live my faith by trying to be an example to others. So many people look down on people who are a "goodie two shoes" but I find that by following the commandments and keeping the standards of the church, I am able to find so much joy in my life. There was a point in my life when I didn't follow the standards completely and tried to find joy in other things. I found out very quickly that the worldly things I was relying on we're just temporary. I felt kind of lost and felt like something was missing. When I started to rely on Christ instead, I was able to find that everlasting joy.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Brooke Greene
We don't drink coffee, tea, or alcohol because our body is a temple and those things can be harmful to our bodies. Heavenly Father knows what is best for us and would not want us partaking anything that is not good for us. He wants us to live a long and healthy life. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Brooke Greene
When you have faith, you believe in something that you do not see. Having faith in God and Jesus Christ is not only believing that they are there, but to trust in Them. Faith is something that we don't get all at once but gradually if we nourish it. In The Book of Mormon, Alma compares faith to a seed. if you plant it and nourish it, it will grow just like our faith. If we follow the commandments and listen to the words in the scriptures, our faith will grow. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Brooke Greene
Yes we do! The Bible has so much truth in it as long as it is translated correctly. The Bible has the story of Christ's birth and life and we definitely believe in that. We have the Book of Mormon because it has more council in it. It does not replace the Bible nor does it contradict the Bible. It is another testament that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Brooke Greene
Of course not! We love everyone no matter what faith they are! We try to uplift and strengthen everyone and do our best to serve one another. The Church has donated over a billion dollars to countries in need of humanitarian aid and most of those people were not Mormon and also a lot of them weren't even Christian. No matter what race or religion other people are we love them and want to help. Show more Show less
