Hi I'm Jim

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and now live in the central valley of California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and the father of seven children, six sons and one daughter, (she's in the middle). They range in age from 30 years old down to 17. I have spent time over the years serving in the community, serving with my children's scouting activities, (both Boy's & Girl's) and other activities that have helped to keep me involved with family, friends and those from our community.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Latter-day Saint and I have applied the principles of the Gospel. Though I may have started out under the direction of my parents a time came in my life where I needed to find out for myself. I came to that understanding by living the gospel and contrasting it with the messages of the world. I found blessings and an understanding of the great love that God has for each of us by living those principles. I know that it is our God given agency that allows us to choose. In this life the consequences, good or bad are attached to those choices. My happiness is in hearing and understanding the will of God and applying it in my life. My faith in Him is strengthened to a point where my happiness is found in following His plan of happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving my family and others. Though at times it may not seem as easy as it is rewarding. In raising my family I found it beneficial to follow the church programs of work and service. The benefit for both me and my children is in teaching them the value of work and the pleasure found in serving others. Participation in church services on Sunday has proven an important opportunity to step back from the confusion of the world and what seems important to it, and regularly reflect on the bigger picture that brings me closer to God and His love for me. I have the opportunity to teach and share my testimony of the goodness of God each Sunday and I find as I am sharing this with others the more I learn and recognize our Heavenly Father's hand in our lives. Serving others is an expression of our love for God. Jesus Christ has shown us how much He and His Father loves us by Christ's service for us. My opportunity is to share my service with others. In this way we can better understand God.
