Hi I'm Clayton

I was born in North Idaho. I grew up in Ohio. I am currently serving as a Spanish-speaking missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in the beautiful Rockies of North Idaho, and at the age of eleven my family moved to Ohio. I grew up in the same 100-year old farmhouse that my father did, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I love doing anything outdoors, whether it's sports, hiking, camping, or even night games with a group of friends. I also read a lot, play the trombone and piano, and help around the house. Well... used to. Right now, I am happily serving as a full-time missionary for the LDS Church. Sharing the message about the Atonement of Jesus Christ in the Spanish language has been the greatest and most fulfilling thing I have ever done.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, but it was my own personal decision to keep living the gospel as I got older. I'm one that will trust you and take your word for it until I learn for myself. And so it was with the gospel as well: I took my parents' word for it until I came to know the same. It is by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ that you come to know the truthfulness of it (John 7:17). This is exactly how I have come to know what I know. I lived the doctrine taught by the LDS Church, and through personal experience and the confirmation of the Holy Ghost (Moroni 10:3-5), I gained my testimony of Jesus Christ, the scriptures, the Church, modern-day prophets, etc. The list continues because life is one big long process in which we learn new things everyday. My testimony grows everyday through daily studying and prayer. There is nothing in this world that I have found that makes me happier than living the Gospel of Jesus Christ because of the blessings God showers me with. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

For starters, I am a full-time missionary! I study and teach the gospel everyday. The more I immerse myself in the service of others, trying to help them come closer to Christ, the more joy I feel and the easier it is to move on to the next day. Before the mission, I did things such as help teach classes during church, helped the Bishop schedule appointments, and be in charge of a small group of young single adults and who would get together every Monday evening to learn from the scriptures, play games, and eat food! All in all, though, I live my faith simply by trying harder everyday to become more like Christ in everything I do.
