Hi I'm Richard Sanchez

Born and raised in a small town in California caled Hanford. I am retired from the newspaper business and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 65 years old, retiered, have two sons, a daughter and 8 womderfuf grandchildern. I joined the church in 1982, I was a Postal Carrier for some 20 years, a Catholic for most of my life, and married for the second time when the Missionaries came tracking. My wife at the time was interested, so they started giving her the lessions and ofcourse I sat in too, just to keep her company. Little did I know that I would be converted as well. We were Baptized Christmas Eve 1982. Left the Church in 94 and came back in November of 2009. I am currently serving as the Asst. Ward Mission Leader in the Hanford First Ward, alomg with my dear friend Randel Mc Gee.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I guess its because I belive that the word of God is true, and that The Book of Mormon is true in that it is another testiment of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. If we could anwser the three questions of where do we come from? What is our purpose for being here on earth? What happens to us afer our timeon earth ends? I know, we're born of parents who love us, and that anwsers the question of where we come from, and that we get buried when we die. But is that it? To live and die. I think not. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, I learn the anwsers to those questions. I know I lived with my Heavenly Father, as a Spirit child before comming to earth, and by comming to earth I gain a body of flesh and bone, and became a mortal bean, gain the knowledge of the gosple of Jesus Christ, get baptized so I can return and live with Heavenly Father once again.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints does'nt mean that life is easyer. We have challenges, but knowing that we can have happyness by keeping God's commandments, and honoring the Preisthood. Currently, I'm serving as Ass't Ward Mission Leader. The joy this calling brings to my life. To serve with Our Full time Missionaries, sharing and teaching the gosple to family, friends and brothers and sisters in God. One of the biggest joys is doing Hometeaching. That when go out to visit families we are assinged as an extended family, to see how they are doing. If they're well or sick and a chance to do service. Ever cut someones lawn and feel good for doing so? That's Hometeaching. Another Joy is visiting the sick, administering a blessing for comfort or for health, because we hold the the holy preisthood.
