Hi I'm Jake Lloyd

I love music and sports, I play the drums, I'm a family guy, I live in Tokyo and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Orem, Utah, USA. I am driven by music and sports, and my passion is the drum set. I have been involved in many jazz-oriented and funk bands in Utah and have toured with a few groups. I play my drums each and everytime I have the chance. I love most styles of music, but I normally listen to rock, ska, and reggae. Favorite band is none other than 311. (three-eleven). I love basketball, football, snowboarding and longboarding. Just getting out and doing any kind of exercise is a good time for me. I am a student at Brigham Young University, located in Provo, Utah and I am studying pre-medicine, Japanese, and hoping to one day study a little bit of Business. I am definitely a family guy. I love my three younger brothers and my older sister. I live in a unique situation. When I was two years old, My parents divorced and remarried, so now I have four parents. Two of my brothers have the same mom as me, but a different father (my step Father) who is from Haiti. They are half Haitian, half Caucasian. My sister was adopted and she is African American. My third brother was adopted from the Marshall Islands. And I'm white. Im the only white sibling out of the five of us. I don't mind being the odd one out though. I love them and strive to be a good example to all of my siblings. I believe that laughing and smiling makes you healthier; I am a goof ball, I love to laugh, and joke around.. Life is all about positivity and happiness. "Stay Positive and Love your Life.".. -311

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the truth of it's teachings. I know this church is true because it has blessed my life, and the members in my family. I am a Mormon because I know that the teachings of Jesus Christ can change peoples lives. The purpose of the the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not simply for people to "be a member" or "go to church," it is a way for us to find a true sense of direction and purpose in our lives. We can find true happiness, forgiveness, and comfort through the power of Jesus Christ's atoning sacrifice. We all experience happiness and sorrow in our lives, but, if you want to experience true happiness and want to learn how to overcome all of those sorrows, the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has the answers. I know with all my heart that this church is true. I know that we are God's children and He is our Father. I know that Jesus Christ is our brother, and only through Christ can we return to God's presence and receive Eternal Life. I invite all who are studying this church and the Book of Mormon, to diligently ask God if it is true. I have read the Book of Mormon and I know it is true, and I invite you to read it for yourself and ask God if it is true. I promise that if you pray sincerely, with a real desire to know truth, God will answer your prayers. It has happened to me and it has happened to millions of others.

How I live my faith

I currently am in Tokyo serving as a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I strive to be an example to my friends, and teach them principles of happiness that the church teaches me. I have set aside and dedicated two years of my life to serving God and His true church in the wonderful land of Japan. I am learning Japanese each and every day in order to breach the language barrier between myself and the people, hoping to find those ready to hear the word of God. Wish me luck! When I get home, I will continue to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ every chance I get.
