Hi I'm David

I am an advid movie watcher/critic/analyzer, 2nd oldest in my family, love to exercise and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently a missionary for the Church. I've been blessed to have been called to the Sydney, Australia mission and I love it here! Its an amazing country with amazing people. My hometown is back in Logan, Utah! I absolutely love Logan and I plan on attending Utah State University (which is in Logan) when I complete my mission. I love to ski! Skiing is something I do with my family whenever we get the chance! I have two brothers who are crazy good at skiing and we all have a great time goofing off whenever we get the chance! The one thing I absolutely love to do is watch movies, quote movies, compare movies, and anything else you can think of with movies. I love visiting California to visit Universal Studios or Hollywood! I'm not sure if I would make a good actor haha but I am obsessed with everything movies! I love to be outdoors and be with my family! My family is really important to me. I love them so much and I know they support me in all that i do.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church since I was born. I followed my parents and there testimony for as long as I could until there came I point in my life where I fell away from the church and from Jesus Christ. This point in my life was my rock bottom. I've never been more confused about what to do with my life. My pride became a hinderance and never brought me lasting happiness. After a long look at my life and where I was going, I prayed to my Heavenly Father for help. I was able to recieve that help in the form of a story. I read an account of a man named Aron Ralston, who in April of 2003, became trapped from a boulder that slid onto his arm in a slot canyon in Canyonlands, Utah. After 5 days, Ralston amputated his own arm to free himself. He then hiked 8 miles, with an amputated arm until he found rescue. I studied this account like a math book. Everything was so interesting to me and I didn't know why. Then I came to the conclusion that his story was directly connected with mine. I had been trapped by my pride and now I had to do everything to free myself from it. After I had put forth my best effort, my Savior and his Atonement took over. He propelled me to find my needed rescue and healing that I had been searching for. I know that there was no other way that the Lord could have gotten my attention than with this story. He knows exactly what I need to hear and what things I need to go through to be happy in this life.

How I live my faith

I am now a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love helping other people make changes in their lives and follow the example of the Savior. Christ has helped me do everything that I needed to do in my life and now I want to share that same strength with other people. I am a missionary 24/7 and I have never been happier in my life.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

David
Of course we do!!! The Bible contains the record of Christ's teachings while he was on the earth. As Christians, we have an obligation to read and study the words of Christ. When we do so it becomes an enabling power to help and guide us no matter what we're going through. We believe it to be of great worth with incredible power to make necessary changes in our lives. The Bible, throughout time, has been fought for and we as Latter-Day Saints continue to fight for the truths it teaches. Show more Show less
