Hi I'm Kacey

I love family, soccer, and dance parties in the car. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 23 years old. I am currently serving in the Irvine California mission. I love soccer and have played up until college where I played for the BYU-Hawaii Seasiders. I love, love, love my family. They are wonderful examples to me. I enjoy just about anything except eating seafood. I am a firm believer that chocolate fixes everything, and that everything heals with time. I do not enjoy talking about myself, so i'm going to stop. Buuut the church is true!!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because Jesus Christ lives and is the Savior of the world. That fact alone is what brings me the most joy. Because of Jesus Christ, we have the fullness of the gospel. We have the priesthood power, which is how I am able to make the covenants necessary to live with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ again. My family is LDS and I have grown up in the church my whole life. I know that my Heavenly Father blessed me with them specifically. I know that as my parents have build our family and home on principles of the gospel, it has brought me closer to my family, to my God, and to my Savior Jesus Christ. My home is a place of refuge. It is a place of peace and safety because it is a place where the spirit can reside. Although I have grown up with the gospel, I have had to figure out for myself that it is true. I couldn't rely on my parent's or anyone else's knowledge or testimony. I read the Book of Mormon because that is what I was told to do. I read out of obedience and I had a firm hope and belief that there was power in that book. For a while I didn't understand what the stories were or what the messages were but over time I realized the power that the Book of Mormon has. It is a power that is indescribable. It is truly a testimony and witness of our Savior Jesus Christ. It is true. Which makes everything else true. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he did what he said he did. I know because I have asked God. I have turned to the source of all truth. I know... that it is only in and through Jesus Christ that we are saved and that all things are made possible. I have had experiences in my life that have helped me, or better yet, forced me to turn to my Savior. I had to rely on him, and not only trust in Him, but to trust Him. People come and go out of our lives, but the one source we can rely on, the one and only person that will be constant in our lives is Jesus Christ. What a perfect person to be our best friend.

How I live my faith

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! I am out spreading the good news of the gospel. It is the best news I have to share and the most important news I have. I am striving to bring salvation to God's children because I know the church is true! Everyone should be able to feel the joy that I feel because of the great plan of our Heavenly Father!

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is written by ancient prophets on the American continent just like the Bible is written by ancient prophets in Jerusalem. In John, Christ says to the people, "other sheep I have, which are not of this fold..." Christ is refering to the people in the Americas. God loves all His children and so throughout time he revealed the gospel to those inhabitants on the American continent as well as those in Jerusalem. Joseph Smith did NOT write the Book of Mormon nor did Mormon. Mormon was a historian that abridged the different records into one book thus the book is named after him. Joseph Smith translated these ancient records into English through the power of God. The words in the Book of Mormon are the teachings and revelations that these prophets received from God himself. It is another testiment of Jesus Christ and is studied with the Bible. The Book of Mormon contains the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and is a second witness that Jesus is the Christ. "In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established." 1 Corinthians 13:1 Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes. Jesus Christ, the Son of God and the Savior of the World, leads and guides this church. It is only in and through Him that one can be saved in the Kingdom of God. He is at the center of everything we do, why we do everything do and how we do anything. In the Book of Mormon there is a man we call Captain Moroni who leads an army during a time of contention and war. During this time he rallies his people to fight for the cause of Christianity. "...and he bowed himself to the earth, and he prayed mightily unto his God for the blessings of liberty to rest upon his brethren, so long as there should a band of Christians remain to possess the land- For thus were all the true believers of Christ, who belonged to the church of God, called by those who did not belong to the church. And those who did belong to the church were faithful; yea, all those who were true believers in Christ took upon them, gladly, the name of Christ, or Christians as they were called, because of their belief in Christ who should come. And therefore, at this time, Moroni payed that the cause of the Christians, and the freedom of the land might be favored" (Alma 46: 13-16). We believe in Christ. When we are baptized we take upon us the name of Christ and strive to represent Him in all that we do and say. We strive to live a Christlike life because He is our perfect example.
