Hi I'm Jena Hagen

I love other cultures and people in other periods and times. I'm an artist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a late-blooming college student. I love to learn and am learning that what I think matters. It's important to cultivate my mind so I can learn to help others around me. I'm an artist. I love the smell, the feel, the vision of canvas and paint. After a painting is finished I like to imagine what the artist felt while painting it, ponder over what they made, ponder over what I've made. I'm an aunt. It's the closest thing I have to being a mother right now and I love my nieces and nephews dearly.

Why I am a Mormon

I know it's true. Through good times and bad times in my life, I've learned to communicate with God, who is my loving Father, and He's assured me of the truth that: God is my Father, who loves me. Jesus lived on earth to show us an example of how to treat each other while we are here. Jesus suffered and died, but conquered those things through his resurrection. Suffering and death are not permanent. Jesus set up the perfect organization of his church while on the earth, but it was lost as humans changed it over time. The authority of the Priesthood was lost. That church and authority was restored through Joseph Smith. Due to that restoration, we have living prophets who speak to the world today, with authority from God, to show God's love for us and help us to prepare for when Jesus comes again. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, just as the Bible is a testament of Jesus Christ. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the complete truth. Other religions, ancient and modern, have pieces of truth and have very good and loving and amazing people! This Church will complete your current belief. Give it time, prayer, thought. It will come.

How I live my faith

Teaching and serving women is my strength and my love of this faith. When I prepare to teach others, I pray for guidance. Then God shows me how He loves the women I teach through the Holy Ghost, or a warm, peaceful feeling. Thoughts of encouragement and love come to my mind and I know they are meant to be shared with these women. I love to hear what they share each Sunday as we discuss topics such as becoming more Christlike, rejoicing in our divine natures as women, using the gifts we receive to bless the lives of others, etc.
