Hi I'm Garianne

I'm a perfectionist and completely imperfect. I'm a mom of 6 GREAT kids, married to Dewey and we are both converts to the church.

About Me

I've been married for 23 yrs. My husband got baptized and we got married on the same day. I was baptized at age 8 when the missionaries converted my parents and my older sister. I'm so thankful that those courageous missionaries who told my family about the gospel! Through ruff times in my life, I've felt my Savior carrying me! When my heart has been broken, when personal tragedy made me question my entire existence, worth & trust in anyone I've ever known. I KNOW my Heavenly Father and my Savior heard my prayers and comforted me! For without them, I would be lost in my emotions and in my faith. Now, I know where I can turn for peace. He knows my needs wants, desires, struggles and hopes and through prayer I can feel his love for me. I always wanted to be a wife and a mother. I have 6 beautiful children who have helped me figure out who I am & how far away I am to perfection and SOON I will be a grandma!! Through all that life has dealt me, I've learned and I've grown. My biggest joy comes from seeing my children find their purpose in this life and my biggest hangup is trying to live with no regrets & forgive myself for my past mistakes. Though far from perfect, I'm trying & learning from those who are way closer than I. It's only been possible with my Saviors help! Through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I know my family will be together forever no matter our imperfections as long as we repent and endure to the end.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this life is not the end and I have a purpose on this earth which keeps me striving to be better. I know the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, additional to the bible. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet who restored The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints back on this earth. Because of this great man we too can know our Savior and return to live with Him again. Through the restored gospel we can learn how it is possible to be with our family forever, we can know that Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are all separate beings but for the same purpose. I am a Mormon because I have felt the power of forgiveness in my life, which has brought me peace, comfort and hope knowing that although I'm not perfect, I have the opportunity to repent and start fresh. I was not always active, all I found and got from that was misery. Since my early 20's I decided to "live" the gospel. I have found joy and comfort in serving others! In the world we live in raising children is not easy and being a member, I know that my eyes are not the only ones looking out for my children s greatest welfare. We are a big family who earnestly love and care for one another. By being a member I have become more faithful and have learned to rely more on my Savior who knows the plan of my life more than I do. I Know The Church of Jesus Christ is the true and I am blessed to be a part of it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day in several ways. After breakfast, I pray with my children, having faith that they will be strong in our world of influences & that they will return home safely. We read scriptures together at night, it's been a huge struggle to find the time when we're all together, but I have faith knowing that the time we have put into it has & will bless each of us. By attending church each Sunday, I get spiritually filled for the next week to come. There were several years where my husband worked Sundays & I brought all 6 kids to church by myself. That was hard!!! At times I wondered why I even bothered. I persevered because I knew that my children needed to have faith in our Savior & know who they are & why they are here. Recently released from a 4 yrs. service with the youth of our church was very gratifying & heartbreaking. I saw youth growing in the gospel & ones struggling to find their way. It reminded me of myself at their age & I have faith they will live like they believe and too find true joy in the gospel. Our family serves our community each Christmas by doing "The Simple White Envelope" where we donate funds & the designated family member decides where it's to be distributed in the community. This brings the spirit of Christ to our Christmas because we are thinking about others, as Christ did, rather than ourselves & it makes us grateful for all we have.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Did Christ only help His followers? Of course not! If we are a Christian people or of a Christian faith, which we are, we are to help all those in need or who we see need our help or who we are capable of helping. Our church has the humanitarian program which helps people all over the world, most of which are not members of our faith. All year round we are contributing in some way to help those around us.
