Hi I'm Krichele

I'm a student at BYU, trying to decide what to study. I love to read and hang out with my roommates. Oh yeah - and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm pretty much just your average girl: I love to read, bake, watch tv with my roommates, dance (just for fun), make homemade candy and spew off random sentences in French. My roommates would also probably tell you - I make random noises. They compare me to Momo from the Avatar cartoon. I am also working on expanding my interests. There are so many things to do and try! I would love to learn how to play the guitar, and play the piano better. I also want to try my hand at writing music and stories, and drawing - cartoons especially. Then of course there's sewing, interior decorating, cooking, and being a mom. That last one is really my goal in life: get married to a wonderful man and have a family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon for a lot of reasons, but perhaps the first and foremost is because it teaches me that I am a child of God. He knows me personally. He knows my name, my struggles, my joys, what will help me grow and what things I stumble over. In today's society, it keeps me on track. It reminds me of who I am, where I came from, and where I want to go. It can be so easy to slip and fall into bad habits, to make mistakes. But that is part of life - we make mistakes, we learn, and we move on, trying to be a little better. There is no mistake that we cannot repent for, thanks to the Atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ. He knows our trials, he knows our weaknesses. He can help us turn those weaknesses into strengths, and He is there for us every step of the way. He is our Redeemer. Through Him, we can return to be with our Father above, and that is where I want to be.

How I live my faith

Aside from my personal daily scripture study and prayer, I also am a Visiting Teacher. I go with my companion to visit two other women in our area. We are there to strengthen them, teach them, but most importantly, to be their friend. This is new to me, so I am trying to get used to it. It's not always easy, especially when things get really busy, or when I hit a hard time in my own life. I try to make sure to check up on them, especially between our more formal meetings, which don't always happen. I just have to keep trying, and make an earnest effort. I'm definitely not perfect, but that doesn't stop me from trying.
