Hi I'm Colby Larsen

I like to play and watch sports, chill, and party rock, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hello there, here is a little somethin, somethin about me. I am a single adult of the age of 20. I have gone to 3 semesters of college at BYU-Idaho. I have moved around quite a bit and lived in Oklahoma (2), Kansas (2), Utah (1), Texas (1), Colorado (1), and Idaho (1). I love to play and watch sports. I've always loved it and I played basketball and volleyball through high school. I am the youngest of 5, with 3 older brothers and 1 older sister. I love being around my family, which now included 3 nieces and 3 nephews. After my mission I will go back and finish school at BYU-Idaho and graduate in Business, with a finance degree.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised LDS. All of my immediate family are members, and almost all are active. I didn't always know that the church was true. Since I was raised in the church I had always been taught the basic principles and attended church. As I got into high school, I started wondering for myself if I believed all the things that I had been taught all my life were true or if I had been some-what "brain-washed". My first semester of college I wasn't planning on serving a mission, because I didn't want to waste 2 years of my life doing that when I could be having so much more fun. As I talked with some friends over the course of a few months I decided to go. When I was out for just over 1 month, I realized that I didn't have a sure knowledge of the things that I was out there suppose to be teaching. I decided to return home. When I first got home I debated if I even wanted to be a member of the LDS church or not. It would be so easy to stop living the commandments and to just do my own thing. As I pondered these things, in my heart I knew that the church was true and that I needed to work harder at gaining a stronger testimony. For the next 10 months, while attending college I began to strengthen my testimony and decided if I should return and finish my 2 year mission. It was some of the toughest months of my life, but through the help of scripture study, prayer, and friends and family, I decided to return on my mission. Being out here for round 2, I have been able to grow more spiritually than I ever have before. I have realized that this church is true and without it I wouldn't be the person that I am today and I would be lost in the world. This gospel has blessed me in so many ways and I'm beyond grateful for that. I know that all the teachings of this gospel are true and that Joseph Smith did restore Christ one and true church on the Earth for each one of us today. I know that Christ did die for everyone so that we can have the chance to live with him again. AMEN!

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full time mission in the Boise Idaho mission. I have been out for about 2 months. It has been the hardest, but most fulfilling thing that I have ever done in my life. It is an amazing experience to devote all your time and efforts to one thing. Especially when that one thing is teaching people about the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is a blessing and a pleasure to be out here and have this opportunity.
