Hi I'm Katie H.

I'm a wife and mother trying to raise a family in this crazy world and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother of 4 beautiful children ages 8 years to 4 months old. I always knew that I wanted to be a mom one day, and I am so happy that my Father in Heaven has blessed me and my husband with these children. I'll admit that it is not always easy. There are days when I feel like giving up. I try to remember this quote by our Prophet, Thomas S. Monson..."Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says, 'I'll try again tomorrow.'" So, although some days can be a little rough on the homefront, I always know that tomorrow is another day and I can turn things around. I love spending time with my family. If and when I have free time, I love to read, listen to music and l love all types of art and design. I especially love floral design. (One day, I would love to get back into it, but for now, I am focused on my family). I also really enjoy all sports and outdoor activities like snow skiing and wake boarding.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a LDS family. My dad comes from a family line of Mormon Pioneers and I am very proud of that heritage. My mom was raised in the Methodist church and converted to the LDS church at the age of 17. My maternal grandmother was the one who set out investigating all religions. She studied with the Catholics, the Methodists and the Jehovah's Witnesses, as well as, other faiths. One day, the LDS missionaries knocked on her door and she felt inspired by what they taught her. She and some of her children (including my mom) decided to join the LDS church. My grandmother and mother have always been an amazing example to me. Their strength and testimony have had such a great impact on my life. I now try to teach my children by the same Spirit that I was taught by my parents. I know this church is true and is the only church with the fullness of the gospel of Christ. This is not something I have always know, but through scripture study and the example of others, I have come to known this truth.

How I live my faith

I love the opportunities I have in this church to work with others and to share His message. Right now I am currently working with the girls in our congregation ages 8 and 9. I look forward to attending church each week because it keeps me focused and centered in my eternal goals. It also gives me the charge to serve and help others in any way that I can. It is so wonderful that my husband and I have the same foundation in this gospel and we work together to better our family and those around us each day.
