Hi I'm Becky Rogers

I'm a wife, a mother and a grandmother. I love people and love being a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of seven and grandmother of 30. Family is very important to me. My heritage is from strong "pioneer" stock. I can feel the influence of my ancestors and how my family is woven into everything I am. I was raised in a family of 13 children on a dairy and cotton farm. Although we were raised in a three bedroom home and mostly with hand-me-downs.....I never felt deprived. It wasn't until I went away to college and came home for the holidays, that I realized how small our home was. We all had responsibilites in the house and out and although we lived 15 miles from town, my parents made sure that we didn't miss out on developing our talents. My grandfather paid for some dance lessons. I took piano lessons and baton lessons and participated in extra-curricular activities at school. Along with talents, our parents taught us a love of the Gospel through Family Night (even before Family Home Evenings were encouraged), and family prayer and scripture study and driving us to early morning seminary and most important through watching them accept every calling that they were asked to perform. Being raised in a small town and having family around us and a community that supported each other was indeed a blessing in my life. Both of my grandparents served in the Stake Presidency, my maternal Grandfather's brother gave me my patriarchal blessing. I had several Uncles as my Bishops.......truly the principle of the importance of Families has made me what I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

Probably the reason I'm a Mormon started out with being born into the Gospel and the Church. I have always loved the church and loved participating. I had many wonderful teachers who have helped my testimony grow as well as parents and family who lived the Gospel and taught it in our home. I don't ever remember NOT believing, even though there have been questions, but no doubts. I have felt through the Spirit the confirmation of my Heavenly Father's love and the love of my Savior, Jesus Christ. Although there have been some hard times and many "forks of decisions" and even some detours, I have always known where I was going and how to get there.....through following the Plan of Happiness and it has become a personal goal of mine to continue on that straight and narrow path back to my Heavenly Home. I know it is true and my testimony still continues to be strengthened and I follow the direction of the Prophet and leaders......by prayer and scripture study. I can best show the strength of my testimony by sharing it and striving to be an example of a disciple of Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving.......being an "instrument" in God's hands. I pray for inspiration of who is needing a friend or needs to be loved. I served as the President of our Women's Organization for 6 years and the love that I feel for the wonderful women in our Church is amazing and they are amazing women dedicated to being. I have taught a religion class for about 13 years which has blessed my life and hopefully those who attend. I've also served from the Nursery, Children and Youth....and adults in our Church and also served in the community in various capacities. Service helps you look outward, not inward.
