Hi I'm Allen

I grew up on a Farm in Nevada. I help people around the world grow healthy crops. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am A Husband, and Father of 6 children. 2 boys, and 4 girls. I love my family, and enjoy doing fun things with them. We love to hike, ride bikes, and read books together. (that means I read while they listen) Being a husband and father is the best part of my life! I lived on a farm my whole life, and now I help people all around the world to grow good food for themselves. I love being able to help others have a healthy and happy life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was taught About God and Jesus by my loving Mother and Father. They were A good example to me of good, honest, hard working people, who cared greatly about the well-being of those around us. When I became a teenager, I began to pray, and seek to know God for myself. He answered my prayers, and blessed me to know that he was listening. Over time, I received so many gifts of loving mercy, that my heart was filled with gratitude and love for him. I came to realize that I needed the gift of mercy and forgiveness for my mistakes. I came to feel in my heart what a wonderful, loving gift Jesus gave to us, when he gave his life for us. I came to feel and understand that his gift of grace has set me free, and blessed my life with happiness and peace beyond anything I had imagined. I love him, and I am happy to be a disciple of Christ, all the days of my life.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving others in my church, and my community. I give volunteer service as a secretary to the Bishop of our congregation. I help organize events, and activities. I also help schedule time for the Bishop to visit with those who wish to see him, or who might need his advice and counsel. I visit the members in our congregation, and check to see how they are doing. If there is something that I can help with, I like to offer to do it. It makes me happy to do kind things for others, as I imagine My Savior would do if he were here.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Allen
A Testimony is a statement of what a person really believes. For example, I believe that Heavenly Father lives, and loves me, and that Jesus Christ is the Living Son of God. I believe that he has restored his church on the earth today, for the blessing of all. I would say I believe these things, or I have a testimony of this. We sometimes refer to this as "My Testimony."
