Hi I'm Kristen

I was born and raised in Utah. I am a wife, mother, college student, singer, florist, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I were married in the temple two years ago and love being married! It has been the best journey and step that we have taken in life; it brings us such joy and peace! We recently became parents to our sweet baby boy, Leo. Despite the challenges of today's world, I know that I have my family and my sweet husband by my side through the thick and thin. I study music at college. I love to sing!! I also work as an event florist. I enjoy working with flowers and plants almost daily. I was born and raised in Utah, but lived in Chile for 18 month serving an LDS mission. My time there was unforgettable and I love the people of Chile so very much. I speak fluent Spanish. I am the middle of 5 children. I love being outdoors, cooking, singing, designing, reading, and spending my time with those people I love most. Mostly, my husband and I love adventuring and experiencing life's ups and downs with our little boy! Life is a gift and we live it with that mindset. Or try to as much as possible. :D

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I chose to become a member of His church because of the values and eternal blessings that it teaches us. As we strive to be like Him, He will bless us. I follow in His footsteps because I know that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ we can return to live with our Father in Heaven again. He suffered at an infinite cost for each of us; we can repay him by loving our fellow man. I am also grateful for the blessings we receive through temple work, and that through the work done in temples, families can be together forever. As I strive to follow the Lord's commandments I know I am blessed and I feel of His great and abiding love for me. I also know that The Book of Mormon is the word of God. In reading the Book of Mormon daily, I have been strengthened physically and spiritually. I have prayed to know that the Book of Mormon is true, and I received an answer that it is true without a doubt. Prophets are on the earth today, and through the revelation they receive we can be led in the ways of the Lord. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me, and that someday if I live worthy I can return to Him.

How I live my faith

I am the ward music coordinator, and as such I organize what hymns are sung in Sacrament Meeting each week. I also coordinate who is conducting the music and who is playing the organ for the week. My favorite part of my calling is creating the Christmas program and organizing special musical numbers for Sacrament Meeting. I know music is such a powerful way to invite the Spirit, and it should be used as a tool of teaching by the Spirit as much as possible. I also love the visiting and home teaching programs we all take part in. It allows us to enter the homes of the Saints and see how they are doing and offer service to them. They are Divine responsibilities to help others feel the love of the Savior, and for an opportunity to serve the members of the ward on a personal level.
