Hi I'm David

I'm a Mormon. I am a retired welder for Weyerhauser. Been married for 51 years and am the father of four and 12 grandchildren.

About Me

My hobby is HO trains. I am interested in computer games that do not involve killing others. I am a Father of four and have 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. My family is very important to me and my sweetheart. We enjoy them coming to visit with us.

Why I am a Mormon

I firsts heard about the church at the age of twelve when a young man asked me if I had heard about the gold plates that had been found in New York. I answered him that I hadn't heard about them but it sparked my interest. At the age of 19 a young man asked me if I had heard about the Mormon church. This sparked my interest some more but I didn't do anything about it. In 1978 we met a family that was a member of the Church and we became friends with them. In 1979 they asked us if we would be interested in taking the missionary discussions. We agreed, and after taking the lessons I knew that the gospel was true and I wanted to be a part of it. I was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on June 10, 1979.

How I live my faith

Since joining the Church I have served in several different capacities. I have been the executive secretary to the bishops for 15 years. I served in leadership positions in the mens organizations for six years. I served a mission with my sweetheart for 23 months. I am now serving as a counselor to the bishop. I am a home teacher and I enjoy going to visit several families each month.
