Hi I'm Don

I'm a husband, and father of 6 children. I ride motorcycles and Jeeps. I enjoy family and local history, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Georgia in the USA. I love my wife and our family. I love adventure, traveling, camping, and discovering the beauty of this world we live in. I've learned that life is full of wonderful and interesting people and things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to good parents who raised me in a Christian home. After marriage, my wife and I wanted to know how Heavenly father would have us raise our family. We wanted to know more. I prayed for guidance and direction. Eventually we found the missionaries. We felt the Holy Spirit as they explained the Gospel of Jesus Christ to us. We read in the Book of Mormon and prayed about it. We were baptized over 30 years ago, and have never looked back.

How I live my faith

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gives us many opportunities to serve and be involved. I firmly believe the precept taught in the Book of Mormon, "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God", Mosiah 2: 17. I have had wonderful experiences helping others and serving, whether it be cleaning up storm damage, community work, Boy Scouts, serving mission, working in the Temple, or teaching a class. We can always find ways to join-in and make things better. Service draws us closer together. As we serve others in the name of the Lord, our faith is increased and our testimonies are strengthened. Being first generation converts in the South was challenging when friends or family said negative things about our church membership, but over the years they have watched our commitment to our Savior Jesus Christ and seen us prove our love for them many times. We hope they will someday accept the Gospel and feel the happiness we feel.
