Hi I'm Derek Crabtree

I'm a skateboarder, my Mom and I are the first members in our family. Now I'm serving in the NY NY South Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born when my mom was really young. She had to start working for a research company to be able to support me. Because of that job we moved to Las Vegas where her boss introduced us to the church. We were baptized and at that time i was about 8 1/2 and very shy. We moved away shortly after but later moved back to Vegas when I was 13. I didn't even know what Mormons were, or missionaries or that I even belonged to a church. Since then we've been fully active and we set the example for the rest of our family. I've had the honors of baptizing my Grandma, younger uncle, and little brother. My Mom was married for the first time on November 19th of 2010 and they were sealed a year later. I am very happy for them and for the new additions to the family and to be added to their family. Sadly I could not be there, but that is because I am serving a mission. I skateboard(and I've been doing that for years), I love doing anything outdoors, watching movies, playing games, listening to music, reading books, being with friends and family, and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Well like I said i was baptized when I was young. I was a shy little kid and i probably just answered to all of the missionaries questions. I don't remember how i felt then, but I'm glad i did it. Because of the church my family has received so many blessings I'd have to borrow everyone's fingers to count them all. I've learned so much from all the experiences that I've had from scouts, quorum meetings, and from people that I've met.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living by the standards, as much as I can, and by fulfilling my preisthood duties. And at this time I am currently serving in the New York, New York South Mission. I've been in Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and Long Island. I love my mission so much because I gain so much from it in just about every aspect I can think of. And I always remember that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have done so much for me that I could never pay them back in full, but as I do my duty to God and serve with all my strength that they will be pleased that I am helping others come closer to them.
