Hi I'm Taggart

I love games, movies, hanging out with my friends, and sword fighting. I served a mission in Zimbabwe, Africa. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Highland, Utah. I am a gamer, I love reading fantasy novels, watching great movies, hiking, and doing crazy things with friends. I played the violin for 13 years, and enjoy singing by myself and in the car, especially while listening to rock music. I am a college student at Utah State University, going into engineering and computer science, but am presently on a leave of absence. I am serving as a missionary in the Zimbabwe, Harare mission. Along with teaching others the Gospel, meeting tons of new people, making great food, and having a great time.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church, went to church every week, attended seminary, young men's and all that classic stuff. But when I went to college for the first year, I really put my faith to the test and found out for myself that the things I had always lived by and believed were not only something good, but were the truth. Just as I now challenge people to do almost daily, I prayed and found out for myself the this church is the only church led by Jesus Christ. The gospel has really blessed my life and I wouldn't trade the knowledge and experiences I have had because of it for any amount of wealth this world could offer. I really like the Church's emphasis on basing every aspect of our lives around Jesus Christ. I know that God loves us, and so he prepares a way for us to deal with hard times. As we learn from the Book of Mormon in my favorite scripture, when a father tells his sons: "And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall." ~Helaman 5:12 Because of this, we know that as we found our lives around our Savior, Jesus Christ and even, as is said in Alma 18:9 to "stand as a witness of Christ at all times and in all things and in all places" we can withstand the powers of the adversary. As we do, there is nothing we cannot withstand. Indino zivakuti kereke a Jesu Kristu yemasuva ekupedzisira evatendi ndeyey chokwadi-- I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints is true. And nothing can change that, . Mwari anerudo nesu-- God loves us. You can now this too. All you have to do is: pray.

How I live my faith

I am presently serving as a full time missionary, setting aside 2 years of my life to serve the Lord. Once I get home though, I will continue to live my faith every day by being the best that I can be and constantly striving to better myself and the world around me. Whether as a student, a friend, or one day even a Father, I will show others what it means to be a disciple of Christ by my actions I have seen this gospel that we have change the lives of many people for the better. I have seen families knit together, differences set aside, and happiness prevail wherever the Restored Gospel is. I like to live my faith by serving, teaching, loving, and helping others as often as occasion permits. I go to church every Sunday, and teach others how the Gospel has blessed my life, and how it can bless theirs.
