Hi I'm Sheila

I was born in Edinburgh Scotland and my parents joined the church when I was 4. We migrated to Australia in 1963 and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of two living children and one who passed away five years ago. I have three beautiful grandchildren; two boys and a brand new baby girl. I retired from work three years ago. I've had the opportunity to work as a nurse, a teacher and a library assistant during my working life.

Why I am a Mormon

As I mentioned previously I was four when my parents joined the Church and I've enjoyed participating in the programs of the church. I married a non-member when I was 21 and was blessed to have him wish to join me in the Gospel. My life hasn't always been smooth and uncomplicated as I said "Goodbye" to my father 30 years ago and my son five years ago. Having the teachings of the Gospel and knowing where we go when we die has helped me in the grieving process and the pain has lessened. When I needed comfort and guidance I knew I could turn to the Lord for help and I know he will always answer our prayers.

How I live my faith

Through the years I've had the opportunity to teach the young children, young adults and adults in our Ward. I've been a Visiting Teacher since I was eighteen years old and love to visit with the ladies in my care. My husband and I have served a two year mission for Family Services in the Addiction Recovery Program and loved it. We met such wonderful people who wanted to turn their lives around and have full fellowship once again. We have just been called to serve in the Temple Presidency and look forward to serving the Lord and our fellow saints for the next three years.
