Hi I'm Mary Hansen

I am a missionary, singer, dancer, member of a big family who I love very much, and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am Mary Hansen. I absolutely love my family so much. When I was a young girl my parents got divorced, so for a little while it was just me, my 2 other sisters, and my little brother, and my mom. Then my mother met an amazing man named Scott Hansen. He lived in Colorado with his five children. His wife had died of cancer. My mom and him met, and we got to meet his kids, and it was so fun. We each had someone our age, except for Taylor the oldest boy. Eventually Scott, and my mom got married in the Salt Lake Temple. I love having 10 family members now, and I love being able to call Scott, dad. We have fun as a family each and everyday, and even though a house of 11 can be crazy, we all love each other so much and it is amazing to be able to gather around the piano every Sunday to sing hymns as a family. I just love them all so much. Now many of my siblings have been on missions and are getting married, but we still love each other so much and love spending time together singing and going on vacations. Some things I love to do are singing, playing volleyball, playing the piano, and dancing. They bring me so much joy. I also love having my sister Allison my same age because we do everything together, and we are always there for each other. I have been called to serve a mission in the Canada Winnipeg Mission for the next 18 months and I can't wait to serve the lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I absolutely know that being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the biggest and greatest blessing in my life. I don't know where I would be without the gospel. I am Mormon because I've known that it has been the true church my whole life, and my amazing parents have taught me the truth of it. But mainly I am a member of this church because it is what brings me the most joy. I've had the opportunity to be raised in the church, which has helped my testimony so much, but I've also been able to come to know that this gospel is true for myself through prayer and reading the scriptures. I know without a doubt that Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are real. I know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ we can be forgiven and cleansed from our sins and weaknesses. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus love each and everyone of us and that they hear our prayers. I know that if I stay on the path of righteousness that I can be with my amazing family who I love very much for time and all eternity, and that I can live with my Father in Heaven one day. I am so grateful that we have such a true book, the Book of Mormon, that teaches us the true restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that it teaches the word of God. This gospel is the world to me, and I am so grateful that I am apart of it, it brings me the greatest blessings, and I know that it is true. I hope to always share it so that others may want to come and feel the peace and joy that I feel each and everyday.

How I live my faith

I attend my church meetings every Sunday, and try my hardest to live the standards set by the prophets and apostles of our church. I know that as I follow these standards I will be safe and happy. I also live my faith by always trying to find ways to serve others. Serving is one of my most favorite things to do and it brings so much joy to my life. I have also been called to serve in the Canada Winnipeg mission where I will invite others to come unto Christ and help them to receive the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

What is faith?

Mary Hansen
To have faith is to “hope for things which are not seen, which are true” (see Book of Mormon, Alma 32:21 and Hebrews 11:1). Each day you act upon things you hope for, even before you see the end result. This is similar to faith. Faith is also knowing that christ lives and that he is always there for us even though we cant see him. To have faith is to also have trust in yourself or others in hard times, or just simply in everything you do. Show more Show less
