Hi I'm Amanda Kay

I am studying Early Childhood Education at the University of Utah, I'm in the Utah Marching Band. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My favorite things in life are music, kids, dance, artsy, crafty, and outdoorsy stuff. I love being with my family and friends. I've been playing trumpet for 8 years, I played in the University of Utah marching band my first semester of college, and I was majoring in Early Childhood Education. When I return to college after my mission, I will be going to USU Eastern going into Cosmetology. I love dancing, but sadly, I'm no profesional, I love to watch others dance though. I like to make things; scarves, hats, bracelets, blankets, stuff like that. I love hiking, camping, rock climbing, swimming, basically anything you can do outside. I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters, and more than 60 cousins; we have a blast together! I love my friends and love doing things with them. I want to travel the world, go skydiving, ride in a hot air balloon, go scuba diving, bunji jumping, crazy stuff like that. I want to learn how to surf, drive a motorcycle, ski, and snowboard. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in the Bacolod Philippines Mission. I am so excited to be able to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ and share the happiness that I have recieved through my experiences in the gospel. I love the Lord and I'm so excited to serve him!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because I love Jesus Christ. Simple as that. He's my brother and I love the relationship we have, and I hope to keep making it stronger. I love learning more and more about the gospel every day. I choose to be a member because of the feelings I got when I would hear the words of Christ. I know without a doubt that this church is true, that Jesus died for me, and that he loves me. I know that Joseph Smith restored The Church of Jesus Christ and that he saw Jesus Christ and God, The Father. I love this gospel and the experiences I've had, and I want others to have the kind of experiences and feelings that I have felt.

How I live my faith

In my home ward, I had a few callings in my young womens; secretary, counsilor, and President for some of the different classes in my Young Womens class. I was very involved with my callings, and loved helping all the girls and leaders in my ward. In my last ward when I lived in Salt Lake, I had the opportunity to serve in the ward music commitee. And in my current singles ward in Roosevelt, I am a Relief Society Teacher. I am excited to teach and I hope that I will learn from my experiences there, and that they can help prepare me to share the gospel on my mission!

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

If you keep the commandments and live right and you are worthy to be sealed in the temple, then you will be able to be with your husband and kids for eternity. Show more Show less
