Hi I'm Shellie

I'm a Mormon. I have 4 young children, a husband, and one crazy life.

About Me

I was raised in the church, but at some point I had to decide if I had a testimony of my own or did it still rest upon my parents? I played college soccer and it was at that point that I gained my very own. No one would know if I went to church or not except that I would know. Because of the decision to continue to go and not fade away, my testimony grew and grew. I have been married and sealed in the temple and I have 4 beautiful children to go along with 10 years of marriage. Life is chaotic but the blessings out weigh the grey hairs. Soccer, baseball, cubscouts, homework are some of the events that fill my life during the day, but at night, when it's alone time, we can wind down together doing different things. We very much enjoy watching baseball, basketball, and hockey. Baking and cooking is definitely something that I enjoy to do especially since I wasn't raised to be a homemaker. Due to my husbands job, there are many single mother days, which makes it even more of a blessing to be able to stay home with my children. Each one of them is beautiful, talented, and intelligent. They all have unique and querky personalities. We struggle but in the end, we know that we all fit together and we love every moment.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have felt my very own confirmation that this is the right place for me, this is the right church. Everything about the church points you to do good, draws you to Christ. It's about family, love, truth. The values that are taught only help a person and not inhibit. It's about building and strengthening the whole person. It's about service and about helping others and forgetting oneself. I love the friendships within the church. I love my opportunities to serve. I love those that serve me.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve others. I for many years worked with the cubscouts, organized the youth camp fundraiser, and have always been blessed to watch over wonderful women. For a few months, I worked in the nursery, which are the kids 18 months to 3 years. I now work with the teen girls that are ages 12 to 18.
