Hi I'm Darla

I'm a Mormon. I'm a Mother and a Grandmother.

About Me

I'm a mother and grandmother. I'm also now single because of divorce. I am so very thankful for loving members of the Church who have encouraged me during difficult times. I am thankful to a loving Father in Heaven who answers prayers and gives me comfort and peace.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents and grandparents are members of the Church and so I was taught the gospel of Jesus Christ in a loving home. They not only taught me by word, but also by their example in how they loved and served others. I learned at an early age, that prayers are answered and I tried hard to keep the commandments of God. As a teenager in high school, I was trying hard to read my scriptures faithfully and live a good life. It was at that time that I received a confirmation of the Spirit that the gospel and the Church is true. That burning Joy that I felt left no doubt in my mind that the gospel is true and that God loves us. Since that time, I have had many experiences that confirm that our Father in Heaven loves each of us very much. He cares about us and wants us to return to him. I am grateful For His Beloved Son Jesus Christ and the atonement He made for us. Through the atonement, we can overcome all things. He will strengthen us and bring peace to our souls when we are in difficult situations. He will bear us up when we put our trust in Him and answer our prayers. Although I may sometimes feel lonely, I know that I am never alone. God is always there, I just need to trust and turn to Him.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve in the Church. I have taught children and women in classes. I have served as a cub scout leader. Currently, I serve as a Single Adult representative. Our mission is to reach out to those who may feel alone and need a friend. Our purpose is to help them come to know that our Father in Heaven loves them and cares for each of them. I also serve once a week at the temple. There I have the opportunity to help others feel the love of God as they worship there. I love being in the Temple. It is a beautiful peaceful place. I also have many opportunities to give service to others in our congregation. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches us to look for opportunities to serve each other and others in our community and throughout the world. I'm grateful for these opportunities to serve and to learn to love others as Jesus would have us do.
