Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a writer, a wife, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, a writer, and a daughter of God.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon not just because I was born in the church. I gained a knowledge for myself that I am a daughter of God and that he loves me as an individual and is always looking out for me. I have gone through a lot of rough patches in my life and God has always been by my side. It isn't good that I sometimes fail to recognize that He wants to help me up and encourage me to keep moving forward, but when I do, it is the reassurance that I need to continue trying and just do my best. I am reminded that God wants us to reflect on those things that we are thankful for which He has provided for our happiness. The Lord is my best friend along with my husband who I love a lot. One thing that keeps me going is the knowledge that I can live with God and my husband for time and all eternity. That is a tender truth that I embrace with all my heart and gives me reassurance that there is something better for me as long as I endure my life here by finding ways to combat pain sorrow by finding joy.

How I live my faith

I attend church at a little branch in Utah. Did not expect to find a branch in Utah, but we did! I also am an intern as a writer for the More Good Foundation, which is the hub for a lot of writing that gets posted on sites like lds.net. I visit teach sisters in my area to share a gospel related message with a companion in the Relief Society. I also love to play the piano, which includes playing church hymns.

What is the Relief Society?

As a sister in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I am recognized as a member of the Relief Society. The Relief Society is ultimately a branch of the church which is comprised of all sisters who's main goals are to support the priesthood, give service and to build faith among the sisters. We meet together every Sunday for a meeting to discuss gospel topics and to grow together as a sisterhood. We try to provide service whenever needed to sisters within a ward or stake, usually, and to the community. Show more Show less
