Hi I'm Susan

I'm a Mormon. I am a convert. I am a wife and mother. I work outside of the home now that my children are adults. Learn more.

About Me

I joined the Church at the age of 21 with my parents. At the same time my future husband was serving in Vietnam. We were to met about two years later on date arranged by a college professor we shared. He arrived at the house with flowers and impressed my Mom. He was not a member of our Church. We married in 1973. It was ten years later that he received his testimony and joined the Church. We went on to have four children. Two of our babies died on the day of their seperate births years apart. Our daughter and son who reached their adulthood have been a great joy in our lives. We were a three generation household for most of our children's lives when because of illness my parents come to live with us. We have had many many blessings in our lives and a few trials to give us experience. We have joy in our daily lives and great peace in the love of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found principals within the gospel of Jesus Christ that ring true to my heart and soul. I know that I am a daughter of Heavenly Parents. My elder brother, Jesus Christ chose to come to this earth to give His life for my transgressions and to give me the opportunity to return to live with an eternal family. I have a purpose for being here. I make a difference in each life I touch. I can make choices that will allow me to be the person my eathly parents and Heavenly Parents would be pleased with.

How I live my faith

I live my life one day at a time, doing my best each day to fulfill my purpose. Each month I visit of homes of other woman in our ward to share and support them in their daily lives. I teach within the Church. Through the years I have taught school age children the simple messages of Jesus Christ, I have taught Seminary to our High School youth and currently I teach the women of our ward. I am the Enrichment leader for the Relief Society. We help each other to organize our lives and use our time wisely to meet the daily stresses and to plan for our future needs in this crazy world. We join together to enjoy the beauty of this earth and to beautify our little portion. I serve in the community as a volunteer on the emergency preparedness committee within our city. I work on humanitarian projects within our region. I enjoy gathering information about our Family History, gardening, hiking and birdwatching. I love to read the Scriptures. I live my faith by being the best woman I am able to be without comparing myself to others around me. I am not in a competion with others but rather walking the path others have trod and upon which many others will follow. I am a daughter, wife, mother but mostly I am me.
