Hi I'm Todd

I love my family. I love learning (about accounting by profession, about the world for fun). I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being around people. I am married to one of the most amazing and gifted daughters of God. We have five wonderful children. I have 4 brothers, 5 sisters, 11 brothers-in-law, 8 sisters-in-law, and 51 nieces and nephews. I teach accounting to 200 college students each year. I research accounting issues with a nearly a dozen co-authors. I play basketball with 40 different people each week. Besides being around people, I love being outdoors. I enjoy just about everything active - playing sports, camping, hiking, biking, exploring, getting lost, etc. I also love learning - seeing, reading, listening, traveling.

Why I am a Mormon

One might think that I am a Mormon because my parents raised me in the Church. While I am very grateful for the upbringing they gave to me, I am Mormon because of my love of learning and improvement. The Gospel of Jesus Christ requires constant improvement and inspires constant learning. With the vastness of "constant" ahead of me, I realized that I must know for myself about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, particularly the Book of Mormon. I asked God if it is true and received affirmation of its truth through both the comforting witness of the Holy Ghost and through receiving the blessings of peace and happiness that have come by living the precepts taught in the Book of Mormon. By knowing the truthfulness of the teachings of the Church, I have gained better insight into the Lord's plan for me and my family. I have received a better understanding of the Bible. I have a greater appreciation for God's love of and mercy toward ALL of His children. I hope to be able to better understand His love for His children so I can love my wife and children in like manner.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being involved in the lives of those around me. I am a Boy Scout leader, helping 11-year olds learn and live the values of scouting. I am a volunteer basketball referee for elementary-age children. When I am done teaching and researching at the university for the day, I rush home to be with my children and my sweetheart and to see how their day has gone.
